My wife just blogged one of my all time favourite meals; Spicy Chicken wings. So easy, I have even made it. Worth a try http://rhodakirwan.com/2012/09/18/uncle-barrs-famous-wings/

This video on exponential learning is well worth a watch. I love how Moore's Law which was posited in the 1960's can be traced back to the 1890's.

Extrapolation - harmless fun, as long as you don't take it too seriously:

http://www.economist.com/node/5624861?story_id=5624861

(Or if the Economist brings you out in free-market hives: http://xkcd.com/605/)

The problem with extrapolation is that past exponential growth is no guarantee of future returns. Just ask bacteria:

So when Kurzweil starts on about Moore's law, exponential growth and the Singularity, it's best to take what he says with a grain of salt.

My son was asked to do a Saint Patrick's day card in religion class. This was the result.
Yes, it's a fat pug 'too stupid to look at the camera' that just did a poo. Very Patrick's day.

Jaron Lanier got off to a shaky start during this presentation, but if you have the patience, the content is great.
