The PhidgetEncoder Highspeed 4-Input can be used with a wide assortment of mechanical and optical encoders. The encoder should be of quadrature output type, indicating that there will be two quadrature output channels (usually labeled A and B) and an optional third output channel to signal when the index pin (a reference point for zero position or a complete revolution) has been reached

3504_0 - i-Snail-S Current Status Switch

The i-Snail-S closes an electrical switch when currents greater than 0.15A are detected in the wire that passes through its window.
Product Description

The i-Snail-S switch provides an accurate and cost effective method of monitoring the on/off status of electric loads including fans, pumps, motors, heaters and virtually any AC powered device.

The i-Snail-S serves as an ultra sensitive Go/No-Go load sensor. The dry contact relay (N.O.) closes when a minimum amount (150mA) of AC current is flowing through its monitored line. The device is ideal for monitoring the running state of fans, motors, pumps, heaters or any device that is AC powered, including large and small loads.

The output is a bi-directional solid state relay with a low turn on resistance of less than 4 ohms. The output may be interfaced to PLCs, DDC panels or other relays. The advanced hysteresis and transient detection circuitry prevent chattering and false switching due to line spikes and transients.

The i-Snail-S features a rugged enclosure with integrated barrier strip terminal block for easy wiring in the field.

This load cell measures shear force up to 20kg and connects to a bridge input.

A load cell is a force sensing module - a carefully designed metal structure, with small elements called strain gauges mounted in precise locations on the structure. Load cells are designed to measure a specific force, and ignore other forces being applied. The electrical signal output by the load cell is very small and requires specialized amplification. Fortunately, the 1046 PhidgetBridge will perform all the amplification and measurement of the electrical output.
Load cells are designed to measure force in one direction. They will often measure force in other directions, but the sensor sensitivity will be different, since parts of the load cell operating under compression are now in tension, and vice versa.
This Single Point Load Cell is used in small jewelry scales and kitchen scales. It’s mounted by bolting down the end of the load cell where the wires are attached, and applying force on the other end in the direction of the arrow. Where the force is applied is not critical, as this load cell measures a shearing effect on the beam, not the bending of the beam. If you mount a small platform on the load cell, as would be done in a small scale, this load cell provides accurate readings regardless of the position of the load on the platform.

Solid State Relays, or SSRs, are devices designed to operate like standard relays but without mechanical motion.
The SSR Board is safe to use with sensitive control devices like microprocessors, and will not damage a Phidget device or your PC. Optoisolation between the control inputs and outputs of the SSR in the form of a GaAs LED paired with a set of optically-controlled MOSFETs provides protection from output to input. An on-board 47V bidirectional transorb across the relay output protects the board from static electricity and surges from inductive loads.
