My December First Week Favorites are kind of all over the place thanks to all the online shopping happening now, a few would make great gifts and there’s even one to make that dreaded wrapping a little more fun :)
While I absolutely love shopping for Christmas gifts (online, no store shopping for me if I can avoid it) and love when they all show up on our doorstep, I’m definitely not a fan of wrapping all of them. I really need to pay more attention to the gift wrapping options at checkout. How about…

A year ago I never thought this room would exist, and up until about 18 weeks into this pregnancy I didn’t feel comfortable planning or even thinking about its design given how tumultuous things have been leading up to now. But then it hit me and the ideas just started flowing and flowing.
The inspiration board for our weathered and neutral nursery design for our first child. Maximum storage and versatile pieces can be used for a long time!

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when the holidays are about to roll around? For me it’s definitely baking some warm gooey cookies and lighting candles around the house that have the classic scents of Christmas. There is NOTHING better than those two smells in my opinion and I love walking into our home all decorated and smelling Christmas-y.

Bringing holiday scents into your home with the help of Glade and some fresh-baked super festive pecan cranberry cookies!

I’ve NEVER been one for having faith and usually “hmff” and roll my eyes to myself when people tell me to have it. It’s just never really meant anything to me and you tend to loose any faith you do have anyway after dealing with personal struggles like having trouble trying to start a family. Hearing those words is the last thing that makes us feel better. BUT, I’m learning that even if you think you’ve got no faith left something is still working for you somewhere and somehow.

There’s no other way to explain why the best thing to happen to us happened less than a month after the worst thing to happen to us did.

We’ve made it a small mission to try and come up with our own restaurant-style fish taco recipe and are pretty dang proud of how these came out! While we haven’t mastered blackening quite yet, I love my fish tacos with oven-fried or fried fish anyway because it gives a nice crunchy texture.
Getting restaurant-style fish tacos is easier than you may think! These oven fried fish tacos have a ton of flavor and are super quick to make!

This project was a hare-brained idea I had while rearranging my two four bags of driftwood in the garage which came to be one of my most favorite crafts ever.

In case you missed it, we announced some BIG news last week and of course we had to take our announcement pic at the beach but I had no idea what to use as a sign at first. But when we stopped by Magnolia Market early last month, I found this leather sign which said “There Will Be Miracles” and knew that it would be perfect given our journey. But what to put it on??? Well, if you know me at all, you know it had to be a piece of driftwood!
Make a quick and easy leather and driftwood sign with just a few simple supplies and some driftwood or reclaimed wood and rope!

Taking on family, hosting, and entertaining, all while trying to juggle pulling off important or involved dishes, can get the best of us for sure.

Do yourself a favor and arm yourself with some tools to make it go a little smoother in there. And you avoid the kitchen as much as possible, this may serve as a great gift guide for those on your list that do love to host and cook!
The holidays are filled with tons of good food and hosting, so make it easy on yourself with these awesome holiday cooking tools!
