It's the "sizzle" that counts - not the steak!
Get Started Today
n-imp18 Digital Music production Course
Next Course: 11 March 2017

Need to release the melodies from your mind?

To produce music on computer isn't too difficult if you are creative and have skills - yet so many so called "music producers" expect their creations to have Grammy status, without applying any award winning recipe that include these attributes.

Other than talent and skills you also need to know what is required by your listeners and how to put down a track that "sizzles".

Put your talents into action. Stop blaming your gear or current situation as to why you can't follow a successful career as a professional music producer that can make REAL music.

Contact us today to find out more.

Come and join SAMA Award Winner and SAMRO board member Joe Niemand for a FREE lecture on Songwriting at Emendy Multimedia Technology Institute this coming Monday 30 May 2016 starting at 13:30

Acclaimed songwriter and international performing artist, Joe Niemand’s soaring vocals are the golden highway throughout his expertly crafted work and his eight albums are cinematic in sonic scale. Hailed as one of South Africa’s most promising talents, this award-winning tunesmith’s music has been heard in more than 92 countries worldwide.

Starting out in theatre, Joe became a household name in 2007 with the song, A New Day, written and performed for the hit SA film "Faith like Potatoes" (also released internationally). This opened a door to Angus Buchan, the Mighty Men Conferences and a very busy travelling schedule across the world with Angus performing at various events.

In 2009 Joe recorded “Glory to the King” in order to give it away at that year’s Mighty Men Conference at Shalom. To date about 340 000 copies of that mammoth album has been distributed as well as 200 000 digital copies downloaded globally. “Love” was released in 2010. “Your Surrender”, the first single off this album, was released with a boundary shifting music video that was playlisted everywhere from MK to SABC! “Your Surrender” was also awarded as the best music video on DKNT Gospel on kykNET.

2011 gave new meaning to the word “intense”! Joe defied all industry standards by releasing two complete albums within two weeks! First, his debut Afrikaans Gospel CD called “Ek Sal Nie Bang Wees nie.” The title track soared on mainstream charts and the album is now certified platinum. The video for “Ek Sal Nie Bang Wees Nie” was recorded on Fort Klapperkop at a memorable gathering where people were given the opportunity to externalise their fears on paper and burn it.

Prayers were then written on hundreds of lanterns and loosed over the city. Two weeks later "Revival: The Anthems of Joy" (Joe’s first African album) was released featuring the Tshwane Gospel Choir. Joe wrote the music for the “Ester” musical presented by the producers of “AfriFrans” and “Houtkruis”, which were showcased at the State Theatre in Pretoria in September 2011, and also played the the lead role as King Xerxes.

In 2012 Joe booked the biggest indoor arena in southern Africa, the Coca-Cola Dome to do “Night of Light”. This event was a celebration of his career over the past 10 years and 7 albums. It was the biggest production Gearhouse had ever been involved with, and according to Warren Green, Commercial Manager for the Coca-Cola Dome; “The Coca-Cola dome would like to congratulate Joe Niemand and his team on their remarkable ‘Night of Light’ production.

We feel privileged to have hosted a local production of this caliber at our venue, which was easily on par with international standards. ‘Night of Light’ was a truly a magnificent event and definitely one that we would like to see more of in the near future. You have certainly raised the bar for local productions in South Africa.” The event was not only captured on CD and an outstanding DVD, but a movie called Agter Die Ligte was made taking the viewer through every fase of the event’s development. Agter Die Ligte was distributed by Indigenous Films in September 2012.

In 2013 Joe put his pen to paper with “Genoeg Is Genoeg”. The following year Joe reunited with his former rock group Niemand to release the SAMA award-winning album, ‘Back Again’ (2014), a nostalgic, organic, worldclass album by the experienced musicians. Joe’s list of achievements grows longer every year and in 2014 he received the Ghoema award for ‘Best Spiritual Album’ (Genoeg Is Genoeg) and ‘Songwriter of the year’, as well as the Wawela Award for Best Composition In A Television Production for Jericho in “Night Of Light”.
“Vryheid” is Joe’s newest offering. An Afrikaans album speaking to the heart of our nation. Joe also proudly serves as a boardmember of SAMRO.
