Setting solid appointments has a secondary benefit that sometimes escapes most sales consultants. Of course if an appointment is set and kept, the chances of selling a vehicle is increased. But the reason the sale is easier, the negotiating is smoother, and the grosses are higher is that you have also gained solid trust and confidence on the customer's part. And because they feel good about setting and keeping an appointment with you, they are less likely to feel the need to continue shopping through the internet. If they make a solid appointment with you it is very unlikely that they will make a commitment to anybody else.
