Thinking about microchipping your pet or horse? Read this before you do. http://www.netposse.com/newsviewer.asp?id=1242
By Debi Metcalfe Microchips are a very popular low cost way to permanently ID an animal in the United States.  The United States is in a transition period in regards to microchipping, moving from the old to the new microchip.  The key is transition, meaning we have not arrived yet.  I am often called a myth buster for a reason. I have been working with all forms of equine identification for 15 years.  I believe in telling the public the truth...

We all have a moment in life where we realize something important for the first time, an epiphany of sorts. Mine came when I was speaking in New York in 2014. I turned around to look at the screen and saw this image. It was then that I realized for the first time that what I do, what we do through this organization, touches many lives in a good way. I had to pause for a moment as it hit me, you can never underestimate the power of one. This ...

Growing pains-and like every growing kid-needs new clothes!!

Each one of you is vital to the way NetPosse.com works. Without you, this would not be possible. We have reached the point that we have outgrown our website server is a maximum state. We have to move to a new server. We have no choice.
As any of you who have experienced this, probably at work, will know, this costs money-a lot of money. We are also taking the opportunity to revamp the website to make it more user-friendly and mobile ready. Again-this costs money as each screen has to be torn apart and rebuilt. We have to move forward-we can't go backwards. We need your support to continue to serve the horse owners of the world and to educate people on how to prevent horse theft. We know we are hitting you hard-we would not be asking so much if we didn't have to. Everything helps. Thank you so much. http://www. netposse.com/donate

There are other microchips that are cheaper-and you get what you pay for, honestly. They will fade with time--or the signal will read first this number then another number--or it will just plain change the number. How do I know? I've had to re-chip my horses because the originals malfunctioned. These won't. They're from the best company making them. Worth the money.

What a DEAL!!! - Get the best microchip on the market (choice of frequency) & a choice of THREE REGISTRIES with one time only fees!! Best deal out there and it is only available  CLICKHERE http://netposse.com/store.asp?cat=Microchips&utm_source=Crime+News+from+Netposse+April+29%2C+2015&utm_campaign=news+alerts&utm_medium=email

Turn all those damn bright lights OFF, people. And shield the ones you do need so they don't interfere with the animals. Reduce the constant night time glare by using motion detection lighting-it doesn't come on until it is needed and only stays on as long as it is needed.

Sea squirts help keep coastal ecosystems clean.
But by shining bright lights in seaside cities, we're not exactly helping them do their job. #NOVAnext

Looks like a great show.

Stolen Horse International, Inc. aka NetPosse.com would like to say thank you to the Western Chapter New York State Horse Council for having Debi Metcalfe at their Horse Fest in March to speak. The people were so nice and the questions flowed at the booth. Check them out and like their page to find out what is going on in Western NY! Debi spoke in the theater to the right of the booth in the picture. Photo by Brandon Vick Photography

She nailed it.

The Cowboy Way
There's an old joke that goes something like this:
You see 3 men riding in a pickup truck. How can you tell which one is the cowboy?
Answer: The one sitting in the middle. He doesn't have to drive and he doesn't have to get out to open the gate.

Is he lazy or just efficient?

I went backpacking. Once. Talk about a miserable experience. You can't enjoy the scenery because you're too busy watching where you put your feet. The backpack gets progressively heavier the further you hike. By the time you get to camp you're so tired all you want to do is sit. Any ol' patch of dirt will do. Your feet hurt. Your body aches. And then you notice how little territory you've actually covered compared to what you're used to doing on horseback. And this is supposed to be fun?

Sometimes we run across joggers and bikers on the trail. While they're busy being the poster child for a Nike commercial I'm eating lunch in the saddle. Do they make me feel lazy? Yes they do....for about 2 seconds.

I am not afraid of sweat. I will stack a ton of hay without complaint. I am not afraid to work. I can prep and load a truck for a pack trip at dizzying speed, make dinner for the whole family, answer several phone calls, pay the bills and still get the laundry done! I am not afraid to pull long hours. I will willingly walk a colicky horse into the wee hours of the night if that's what it takes.

Am I lazy? Terribly. Am I efficient? You can bet your spurs on it.

Once I passed a backpacker high in the mountains. He was exhausted, hot, sweaty and miserable out in the middle of nowhere. You should have seen the look on his face when I reached back and handed him a beer. It was still cold. Yea. Who's the dummy now?

When you see a trail rider day dreaming in the saddle, unstructured, seemingly unschooled and way too relaxed; don't hold it against them. It's just the cowboy way!

Mother's Day-eve n if she doesn't have a horse, does she have a dog? Got microchips for them, too, AND you save the vet's bill, still get the registry, and can get a collar tag with a bar code, too.

Now what would your Mama do if her dog disappeared? Seriously-you want to get that dog back, right? Shelters all scan for chips.

I had no idea-do you?

Do you know the answer to this Stolen Horse International, Inc. aka NetPosse.com ID Question. How long should you hold the iron on a horse when freeze branding to get white hair growth in for the brand? Please give us your feedback and any thoughts on freeze branding times.
