I have seen the worst slide in the world
ShareTweet I’ve see lists of bad slides, but this one takes the cake! I wouldn’t have said anything if this diagram had been called a document, but it was called a slide. I expect military documents to be complicated. But I don’t expect them to make slides of these documents. Here it is:

Review of the Targus wireless remote/laser pointer
ShareTweet Targus wireless remote I use this inexpensive remote because it’s very simple. It’s small so your audience will hardly notice it and it fits easily in the palm of your hand. You just plug the USB adapter into your laptop and it works. Click the right button to go to the next [...]

What do you do when you run out of time?
ShareTweet What do you do when: Your talk goes longer than you expected? Your host cuts your time? Most presentations have a time limit. You’re allowed 20 minutes to speak, let’s say. Here’s a quick tip when you’re in this type of emergency situation. Before every presentation, memorize the last slide number. (This was [...]

Create a swinging bell or pendulum in PowerPoint
ShareTweet Have you ever received a greeting card created in PowerPoint? Maybe I receive more of these than most people, but I get them several times a year. A nice effect, especially for holiday and New Years’ greetings, is a swinging bell or pendulum. You use the Spin animation, but it has a problem [...]

Basically, if you ask the general public (audiences) what is bad about most presentations, they know. But presenters (who are obviously sometimes audience [...]

Present interactively: Your audience expects it!
ShareTweet My training webinar, “Present interactively—Your audience expects it!” was well received and you can now purchase the recording. In fact, the Training Manager of a state teacher’s union hired me to give this webinar, slightly customized, for employees. That too was well received.  Learn more about what I covered during the webinar and [...]
