I've become a huge fan of walking for stress relief, and pedometers make it more fun!  If you're looking for an inexpensive way to maximize your daily step count, here's a helpful article from my friend and colleague Wendy, who knows a TON about walking.

If you carry your phone with you all day, you probably don't need a stand-alone pedometer. Get an app instead. http://walking.about.com/od/apps/tp/Pedometer-Apps.htm
Pedometer apps use your mobile's built-in accelerometer to track your daily steps, workouts, and activity data. Here are the top-rated ones for iOS and Android.

Exercise can help. Thinking of ways you can be kind and helpful to others can take you out of yourself and lift the gloom. Talk to a friend or counsellor.
