Employment
  • Target
    Sales, 2007 - 2012
My main duty was to keep the store in stock: I was to mark locations that were out of stock, create store orders and backroom refills, and help guests in any way needed. I also assisted with weekly sales planners. I participated in overnight inventories and overnight mass resets. I also assisted in the Electronics, Market, and Stockroom departments, and was a Team Trainer for the Instocks position.
  • Pirates of Emerson
    Scarer, 2005 - 2011
I worked seasonally at the Pirates of Emerson haunted attraction. I mainly portrayed a pirate in a maze and scared people, but I also trained new scarers and came up with new ideas for scaring locations and techniques.
  • California's Great America
    Haunt Actor - Bird Lady, 8 - 11
I portrayed the Bird Lady at Haunt at California's Great America. I was an atmosphere character that roamed the park and wasn't limited to a maze. I got to interact with nearly every guest, whether they there to go in a maze or not! It was a great experience in building a whole character from the ground up and shaping it as I grew more comfortable in my role. And of course, I scared people. Lots of them.
  • The Walt Disney Company
    Merchandise Cast Member, 1 - 7
I rotated between three Disney-managed retail stores in the Downtown Disney Westside area, as well as the outdoor sales locations associated with the aforementioned stores. I assisted guests with purchases, questions, directions, etc., and provided exemplary guest service, standard with the Disney World theme. I created Disney Magic.
  • Home Depot
    Merchandise Execution Team Member, 10 - 1
As part of the Merchandise Execution Team, we ensured that every bay in the store was set to planogram, and if it wasn't, we fixed it. We also completed vendor-initiated projects (including buybacks of old/outdated product, preparing new signing, reboxing damaged product, etc.) on a weekly basis. I was also made captain of the Millworks area (which includes doors, windows, and mouldings), and I was in charge of making sure the area had all of its proper/updated signing and brochures, and undamaged displays. I also updated the Millworks binder weekly with new updated information from corporate. I also kept track of vendor contact information in case a display did become damaged or lost.
Creative Dentistry was the closest place to me that offered the Snap-On Smile treatment, which I'd been looking at for a while as a cheaper alternative to veneers. I called to make an appointment and they were able to make one for me the next day, which was awesome. The place is super nice, clean, and shiny. There was paperwork to fill out, but it was all done on a laptop in the waiting area. (Yay, technology AND saving trees!) The front desk woman is absolutely lovely, as are all of the assistants. Dr. Reddy is also phenomenal-- she really knows what she's doing, and she'll make sure you know what's happening and why. I never felt uncomfortable (well, all right, one tooth was a bit sensitive but that's hardly their fault), and I've got to go back and get my fillings taken care of and is it weird that I can't wait? I definitely recommend them, especially if you're new to the area (like me!) and need a regular dentist. (No seriously, go to the dentist. I waited too long and my teeth paid for it!)
