WAbove: Recent project, a crocheted lace curtain. Some people are compelled to race cars. Some people are driven to acquire wealth. Even others make it their life's mission to fight for justice. As the daughter of two fine artist, I am driven by the urge to create. I grew up in a creative world, ...

New post (Kitchen Dreams / Kitchen Essentials) has been published on Amor y Sabor (Love + Flavor) http://amorysabor.com/kitchen-essentials-kitchen-dreams/
Featured Image [Source] of Rustic Kitchen. As I pack for yet another move (I hate moving, who doesn't) and I'm still a year or more away from buying a home of my own, I can't help but fantasize on my dream kitchen. When it comes to tools and supplies, I am almost already there, as my numerous ...

New post (Selfie or Self Obsession? Part 1) has been published on Amor y Sabor (Love + Flavor) http://amorysabor.com/selfie-or-self-obsession-part-1/
Years ago, when I was a student a Maine College of Art, majoring in graphic design and photography, I became fascinated with a genre of art called the self-portrait. Back then, the phrase “selfie” was unheard of, instead, it was a self-portrait — a representation of one's self, whether in paint, ...

Above: Potholder fiber art. [Source]. We live in the age of the touchscreen, of the portable phone, of information at our fingertips, yet other than liking, clicking or selecting, we don't really use our hands for much anymore. We use our fingers to press the buttons on the microwave to cook our ...

Many people wonder if there are particular strategies that we can use to maintain a happy family, and while there are some things that you will find across the board, there are actually plenty of ways that will help your family create stronger ties between each other. But ultimately the secret ...

New post (To Cook or Not to Cook) has been published on Amor y Sabor (Love + Flavor) http://amorysabor.com/to-cook-or-not-to-cook/
It used to be that the question of whether to cook or not to cook was never asked. This is because cooking was not optional, it was necessary for survival, at least it has been since humans evolved from eating raw meat millions of years ago. For, once humans learned to cook, it changed not only ...

Above: Photo @Eliza Alys Young, “Tree Arch”, St. Augustine, Florida. I think I might have been a gypsy in a past life because my journey in this one has been so nomadic. While part of me has longed for a stable place to dig my roots in, my life has kept me moving. Now is no different.

New post (The Long Winding Road) has been published on Amor y Sabor (Love + Flavor) http://amorysabor.com/the-long-winding-road/
This is how my life has been lately… I started to write this about a week ago “I haven't written for a while I know and” when there was a computer problem and I had to stop. The next night I tried writing in bed and wrote “I begin this before bed when” and my pen ran out of ink.

Introduction
I am a creative professional, originally from NYC, who lived in the Dominican Republic for 8 years. I own and operate my own creative services company called Design Intense, working with clients from around the world.

My personal passions extend beyond design to creative expression in all its forms: handicrafts such as knitting, sewing, beading; art such as photography, collage, drawing; dance, gourmet cooking, poetry to name a few.
