Portable electric generators can provide backup power supply to run home appliances in the event of power failures (outages). These generators act as the best means to run essential home equipments such as lights, computers, refrigerators, pumps, TVs, etc. when the main power supply source goes out.
A portable generator can provide the emergency power when needed, especially in case of supplying power to medical equipment.

Direct Online Starter/DOL Starter:
It is an easiest method for starting up three phase induction motor in which starter windings of the motor are connected directly to the main supply. When an induction motor is connected to the three phase supply, a very large current typically 5 to 8 times the full load current flows through the motor. This heavy current reduces as the motor accelerates to its rated speed.

For more details, visit http://www.electronicshub.org/dol-starter/
Contents1 Direct-on-Line (DOL) Starter2 Construction or Parts of DOL Starter2.1 Overload Protection3 Working of DOL Starter4 Advantages of DOL Starter5 Disadvantages of DOL Starter The most simple and inexpensive method of starting a squirrel cage induction motor is the DOL starting method. As the name implies, it switches the motor directly onto the three phase …

Capacitive Voltage Divider:
The construction of capacitive voltage divider circuit is same as like resistive voltage divider circuit. But like resistors, the capacitive voltage divider circuit is not affected by the changes in the frequency even though it uses reactive elements.
Get an idea about working of capacitive voltage divider circuit along with examples, voltage distribution in series capacitors, capacitive reactance, etc.
