Career Speaker Series: Finding Success in Life

Finding Success in your Life

What does success mean to you? What are the keys to success? How could you be successful?

Join us in this Speaker Series and Networking Event which is a fabulous opportunity for the Filipino community in the SF Bay Area to connect with each other and drive meaningful conversations that will lead for more future collaboration.

In this speaker series, we have invited a panel of Fil-Am speakers to share their personal stories on their journey to achieving success. Some had “broken through the glass ceiling” in their respective fields, others had found success in making a difference in their communities, while others are breaking through personal barriers by continuously developing themselves and finding creative ways to achieve significance. Truly, there is no one way to define success but it is important to be doing work that matters to you.

This will be a "Two-in-One Event"!

Brand new duet from Fil-Am and Bay Area girl, Monica Laire with Brett Patterson...I had the pleasure of meeting her and best of all, hearing Monica Laire in person when I was overseeing Global Filipino Network's Sangdiwa Festival at the Philippine Consulate last summer. Monica Laire was a past Top 48. American Idol finalist from Season 14! Check out her vocals 😊
Congrats on the video Monica Laire and many thanks as always, Chona P Mendoza for sharing your talented daughter's singing to the whole world!

I was very honored to be part of a private invite for PhilDev’s “UnConference at Google." this past Tuesday afternoon and early evening. All the attendees were asked, "Beyond scholarships, how can PhilDev best support & engage the FilAm community?"
I was part of group #7 with my fellow GFN/ Global Filipino Network member, Christopher Otrebla where we brainstormed on the subject of "Events via Community Outreach and Innovation". What would be a viable and sustainable idea?
Let me say I think our group had a stellar I'm putting it out here first, so we can claim it first...we called it, "Pinnovation", a hackathon but with a twist of telenova/ reality show like "Survivor" type competition...where we would follow a group putting out their innovative, entrepreunerial ideas and we would follow them on their progress/ journey but they would be judged American Idol style with judges and have the viewers, followers vote...they could judge via social media, phone calls and we could have Fil-Ams and those in the Philippines compete...again, we are claiming it here first and you may see it soon😊👍
Many, many thanks againRegina Manzana Sawhneyhney for initially inviting me and always allowing me to share my thoughts; I felt thoroughly more engaged at this event. Also, many thanks to Angelica aka "Jonesey" Castro with PhilDev for allowing my husband, John and our daughter, Johnella to come with me today, since he had to drive me there with my broken ankle, which allowed us to pick-up Johnella at school and come straight to the event. We very much appreciate you and Regina accomodating us.
I was happy to be there and sharing ideas with like-minded individuals who are passionate about lifting young people up further...
Again, fantastic day and event! Hope to be part of more in the near future and also, hoping to see how these ideas will come to fruition
