Gail Pasternack is a fantasy writer whose passion for food and folklore, especially Jewish Folklore, inspired her to create Awan, her fantasy fiction world. Since Alan has cooked for top New York City French restaurants, he feels completely at home in the kitchen and was more than happy to collaborate with Gail in creating a cuisine for her world.
In this episode they will prepare Lamb Green Chili, a dish from Sakara, a region in southern Awan. The recipe can be found on Gail’s blog, Crossing the Demons’ Threshold, at http://gailpasternack.com/2014/04/20/sakhar-lamb-green-chili/. And while they cook during the show, Rivkah will share a Jewish story about the prophet Elijah.
