A css error related to RTL directionality. It does not happen when the page is LTR, so most g+ users do not encounter the bug...
 
I should have guessed it's RTL. There's no chance such a thing would've passed QA... (I thought there's a weird reason, for instance allowing you to center every item on the page)

Is it a bug in the browser?
 
the extra area appears in chrome, FF, IE8.
