I just had a chance to read John F. Coppinger's Tertiary over the last few days and it was a very pleasant experience indeed.

The story revolves around the discovery of some remains that could significantly affect our views on our present day interpretation of everything that we know about the world.

Without spoiling your read too much I can say that if you love dinosaurs, high tech, or nano technology, military conspiracy and good old fashioned action I believe Tertiary has a treat in store for you.

I would love to see Tertiary made into a movie as it holds many insights that could be beneficial for people today to contemplate upon.

Get your copy today!!!

Ingenious Hack for Sketching with Two Point Perspective Using an Elastic String
This quick video demonstrates how to use a long elastic string anchored at the horizon of a canvas to sketch a drawing with two point perspective. With as many art and drawing classes I've taken, I've never seen this method used before. A more traditional and accurate method would invo

I am speculating to invite other writers to take a stab at chapters in a web series I've been working on - it would be pieces of about 5-6000 words and would have to fit into current framework, right now 5 finished chapters exist and I will be looking at finishing the sixth, I currently have someone working on converting it into a comic book form too. How would any of you feel about taking a stab at something like this and how to do it in the best way, I am thinking creative commons licensing as I would like if it fits into the universe to incorporate into "Canon" etc. I would be interested in hearing your opinion on this ? Would a competition perhaps be better ? How would you go about such an idea... Oh and if you tell me I might just use the ideas you have so this is to be considered an open free for all discussion in the public domain... :)

I can post a link to the scifi if asked but don't want to just do it as some might consider that spamming the group - I am mainly interested in discussion about the idea right now.

Sorry about the doubl,e post - my system told me posting did not work first time around...

Genre is SCIFI - Action / Suspense / thriller, story arch touching upon popular conspiracies, high technology and betrayal of mankind by the powers that be, including political, corporate, military etc.

You are right about continuity it is intended as an ongoing series.

It is divided into short chapters that each should be able to stand on their own, while allowing for character development of existing characters and introduction of new characters and story arcs.

As for licensing likely has to be someting like CC as it is something being developed online.

I do not see an issue with an author retaining rights to her/his ideas and writing and would envision a reciprocal agreement between writer and me if collaborative work, so do not see CC as such blocking said writer from using their own ideas etc. depending on exact type of publishing license chosen and agreement with said writer.

This is just tossing up ideas for how to go about such matters, might end up going the writing contest road
