Fuji 16mm 1.4..... Awesome! Quick test at home :-) I guess I must be slow on the uptake here but the Jpegs coming out of the XT1 are stunning. Next assignment I will shoot RAW + Jpeg with the Jpegs as black and whites. Nice one Fuji!

I recently bought bought a second hand a7s for video. Turns out its a lovely stills camera. I know the resolution is only 12mp, but it was only a few years ago i was earning money with my trusty D700.... which was also 12mp. Very interesting.

Yes, a 12 mp image can be excellent.  I sometimes use an APS- C-format lens on my full frame A7 for good photos even though the resolution is lower.

Maiden outing for my new Gravity 250 from Fosslis Stuff and I am a new pilot so sorry for the shaky piloting! I am in rates mode... and yes, that is my excuse :-). Also, its the first time using a gopro session!

Bags on a plane: It's no secret that the cabin lockers get filled up quickly with duty free and the 'one bag per person' policy. Easyjet is no exception which has caused a fair few problems for me in the past getting to a photography job abroad. I have just booked tickets for a european flight to shoot a conference and already i am fretting about inevitable argument with the boarding crew despite my bag being well within the limits. This time, I decided to phone customer services before hand and ask if anything can be done that does not involve forking out extra cash and eating into my paycheck. Turns out there might be a work around. Me and my camera bag are now on the flight manifest stating that the bag cannot go into the hold. This may or may not have an effect when it comes to check in but it's the most positive action I have ever seen easyjet take. So, the experiment begins for me and my fellow togs to see if there is indeed a way to declare, ahead of time, that 'I SHALL PASS'. FIngers crossed and if it does work, I might be in a rare position to write a positive review about this budget airline and their sympathy towards photographers. It's worth noting, the customer services rep did not know that this was possible until some research was done so I doubt the boarding crew know either. Let's see how this goes.

Red Dwarf XI & XII
Yesterday I spent the day with a lovely bunch of old blokes.
I first met them in 1989, which is a mere 26 years ago and we went into deep space in the Jupiter Mining Vessel Red Dwarf.
As of next month we go back into deep space for 5 months to make 2 new series of this classic, iconic, very long running sci-fi-sit-com.
It was Danny's idea to swap the name tags, we like to keep him happy.
