Our city has a very small community rose garden where the roses are just beginning to bloom. This red and pink rose was photographed there.

This poppy was found growing in the Jackson Bottoms Wetlands preserve. Seeing the poppy in tight macro close up view reveals intricate petal details and a mix of colors in what, from a distance, seems to be a pure orange poppy.

The braid belongs to my wife, and the hot lava rocks cooled off about 7,000 years ago. And it was actually kind of cold and windy, but who would look at a photo that was titled "Cold blonde on the rocks?" :) We were hiking through the lava beds surrounding Lava Butte, a butte on the flank of the Newberry Crater shield volcano, in central Oregon.

Pulled the hovercraft out of the side yard winter storage. Filthy. De-winterized, got the engine started, hovered off the trailer on to the front yard (everyone has a hovercraft parked in the front yard now a days). And been pressure washing the trailer, and washed the hovercraft too.

Next up this evening is to install new mounting brackets on the trailer, and then store the hovercraft securely, overnight. Next steps are to paint the trailer and install a US Coast Guard required 120 Hz flashing orange light to comply with the new requirement (well, at least five years old but whose counting...) to have a flashing amber light on hovercraft whenever in operation. The purpose of which is to alert other boaters that we supposedly have the maneuverability of a drunken jet skier.

A small flower growing in a pot in front of our house. Unfortunately, we have forgotten the name of this type of plant! Photographed with a Nikon 1 V2, Nikkor 30-110mm lens, and 21 mm macro extension tube.

We discovered a problem with a car's rear brakes one morning. Called Clay's auto service and they were able to schedule service that day. Drove the short distance over and they took care of the problem that afternoon, and did an evaluation of other car systems too (fortunately everything else was okay). Will take this car and others to Clay's for future auto service, as needed.
