+Matt Heilman The soldering is a project. Ordered a hundred 2.7K resistors from Jameco. $5.00 You'll need 44 to do it right. Saw others use two types of resistors. I agreed with Alan though. I think I did better with series resistors. Want to use the ladder in another project!!! Seriously, how was the video? I respect your critique!

Alan, did you have to adjust your X/Y coordinates when you switched from PWM to the R-R2 DAC and started writing PORTD and PORTB registers? I built a ladder very similar to yours and it seems to test out well on the "steps" test. (Just running up consecutive numbers and resetting to 0). When I tried applying my PWM coordinates, my initials where not recognizable although points and lines were and no flickering. Looked misconfigured. Same 2.7K resistors (2 in series for R2) and a 10nF to ground off the output. I am wondering if my sketch might be off but it seems pretty simple to do.

+w2aew Everything worked. Christmas Tree and initials are crisp and flicker free. Have to get a camera that is fast enough to show it!! LOL. Had to fool around with the cap filter and timings to get the right combo. Settled on a .1uF Mylar cap. I was only seeing points on the scope until I changed out the cap. Learned a lot about my scope in this project. Thanks again!

+Matt Heilman Just saw this video. Just wanted to warn you of the effects of those powerful power supplies on your electric bill. I had a few high power boxes running 24/7. Turned them off and saved about $60. They were 650W models.

+Matt Heilman I did notice the glove.
It isn't a welding glove so it is not that hot.

Here's an example of using the Arduino's PWM outputs to drive the X/Y axes of my oscilloscope. My wife drew the picture of my initials (EJM) and I mapped out the coordinates and placed them in the Arduino sketch. Many thanks to +w2aew for the example in Yahoo.

I use a digital camera that makes video - iMovie for editing - cutting as much as possible, because the finalize & upload times increase alarmingly(exponentially ? ) with length.
It is good that you can get what you did holding the camera, I use a tripod usually, one of my tripods has a smooth pan head that helps.
Also i don't let my experience as a photographer dominate or i would do better videos but much less often.

I used to plot a fallout map (USNAS Moffett Field Calif.)  It was calculated by upper wind soundings [ no satellite yet] .
The military intelligence decided Moffett was a better target than where it had been.
I decided that they were idiots.
That map would not be there when they needed it.  I used it to plan not to go in the fallout zone on liberty.  If i was at work and we got hit        *I would become light.*

You have an 8 bit and a 6bit ladder. You show us the 6 bit on your mixed domain. Is that your Y-axis and the 8 bit your X-axis?

Thanks, I get it. You are working with DWORD and BWORD in the Arduino. Great project.

Dr Goldfeder and his team have been taking care of my wife and four children for over 4 years now. Recently, for my daughter Haley's high school grad pictures, Dr. Goldfeder performed a bonding on her front teeth. Haley is so happy and her teeth look GREAT. Dr Goldfeder and his staff have always been kind to us. The office is very professional and his team is staffed with good people.
