The Economics and Management undergraduate degree programme examines issues central to the world we live in: namely how the economy and organizations function, and how resources are allocated and coordinated to achieve the organization’s objectives. Economics and Management are ideal intellectual partners, each particularly fitted to strengthen and cross-fertilise the other.
Management is concerned with the effective use and coordination of materials and labour within organizations in the pursuit of the organization’s defined objectives.Management considers the interrelationship and interactions between distinct parts of an organization, and between the organization and its environment. Management students look at theories, models and frameworks in order to understand how managers behave and to consider their role in the process of decision-making.

The Yale integrated MBA curriculum teaches more than a set of skills. It teaches a new way of looking at the world. The critical concerns of the global economy—from financial markets to climate change, from globalization to governance, in healthcare, in education, even in entrepreneurial activity—require leaders who can draw on the complexity of the modern business environment to create solutions and seize opportunities. The Yale curriculum is designed to train such leaders.

Business Administration, 2012
The Business and Economics Program has a liberal arts and interdisciplinary focus. It is built on the five Cs: critical thinking, collaboration (working with others), and communication (oral and written English), conduct and competencies (in business related disciplines). Students learn the fundamental principles of accounting, economics, finance, information systems, management, and marketing as applied in a variety of organizational settings. A distinguishing aspect of the Business and Economics Program is the requirement to take courses developed in conjunction with disciplines outside the traditional business curriculum. Examples include courses with Biology, Chemistry, Education, English, Fine Arts, History and Performing Arts.
In addition, a Capstone Course provides students with the opportunity to integrate their knowledge through a Global Strategy Simulation exercise.
