Introduction
Edmund YEO (1984, Singapore) is a Malaysian filmmaker based in Tokyo. Since 2008, Yeo has been writing and directing short films at a prolific rate. He was the youngest ever Malaysian filmmaker invited to the competition at the Venice Film Festival with his first Japanese-language short 'kingyo' (2009). In 2010, he made a pair of short films that are thematically linked: 'Inhalation' (2010) and 'Exhalation' (2010). 'Inhalation' won the Best Asian Short Film award at the Pusan International Film Festival. 'Exhalation' was screened at the Dubai, Rotterdam, Jeonju and Shanghai Film Festivals. 

He is also the editor and producer of Woo Ming Jin's award-winning films, The Elephant and the Sea (2007), Woman On Fire Looks For Water (2009) and The Tiger Factory (2010), the latter, which he co-wrote, premiered in Cannes Film Festival 2010.
