Well, E M Forster did not really like the idea of marriage (not surprising)... He made it seem like the worse kind of choice a man could make. For a woman, not so much; but then he made them seem too mercenary and selfish.

Wow, while this was one long book, it kept it's pace most of the time, keeping me turning the pages. However, I was more interested on the minor characters than Anna Karenina. I didn't like her much... too self absorbed.
