I just published a small update to Flubaroo (v 3.02) which fixes a few bugs:

* Enables users to sort the Grades sheet without consequence. Before, this could interfere with emailing of grades.

* Fixes an issue in which very long questions that identify email addresses can break the UI (hiding the Continue button).

* Fixes an issue in which instructor feedback can appear in very small font in emails sent to students.

Happy Flubaroo'ing!

Hi, I just discovered Flubaroo. What is the best way to add another language? I am from Holland and I want to add Dutch.

I finally set aside 2 whole days to work on Flubaroo! I'm holed up in a conference room at Google, with plenty of sugar and caffeine at my disposal. While there are many new features I hope to work on, first and foremost are bug fixes. So ...

I've just posted a few bug fixes to Flubaroo. These are now available in Version 2.1 in the Script Gallery.

The fixes are:

- Fixed a bug in which grading more than 100 submissions sometimes caused Flubaroo to hang (issue 8). Flubaroo will now work for > 100 submissions with no problems.

- Fixed a bug in which the Continue button would sometimes disappear in Step 2, due to a large number of Student Identifiers (issue 9). This should now be fixed for most use-cases.

- Fixed a bug in which Flubaroo would stop emailing grades if it encountered an invalid email address (issue 17). Flubaroo will now skip over any invalid email addresses, rather than quitting when it sees one. It will also tell you how many students didn't get emailed their grades due to blank or invalid emails.

If you don't care about any of these fixes, you can just ignore this update. You'll get the new version the next time you install Flubaroo into a new spreadsheet.

But if you'd like to get these fixes in a spreadsheet that already has Flubaroo installed, you'll first need to uninstall the existing version of Flubaroo. Visit www.flubaroo.com/blog for info on how to do this.

Happy Flubarooing!

I know very little about writing scripts and what not, but it would be pretty cool to see a pie/bar chart for each problem so you can see if there was a particularly popular wrong answer. This would help diagnose where students are going wrong.

AWESOME script though, definitely implementing it next year. Thank you!

I think I had the same issue. If you delete a question in a form, but still have it linked to a spreadsheet (or even responses) it will count that question, even though it doesn't appear in the quiz/form. I had to delete the spreadsheet, then remove all the responses from the form and unlink it. Then I went through the process again of creating a new linked spread, then ran Flubaroo and it was fine. I hope that made sense. :)

Hey Flubaroo Users: A couple of users have brought up the idea to me of "negative marking" in Flubaroo. That is, negative points applied for wrong answers, rather than just 0 points.

Please respond and let me know if this is something you would find very useful, or have been wanting?

Not in all contexts, but negative marking sometimes enhances the rigor of the testing process. I'd vote Yes.

Want to know more about Flubaroo? Like where the name came from? How other educators use it? Want to get your questions answered live by the creator of Flubaroo, and other educators? Want to learn a little bit about Google Apps Script, the code that Flubaroo is written in?

Then tune in tomorrow, May 2nd at 6pm EST (3pm PST) to watch a live session on Flulbaroo and Google Apps Script, part of Google's Education On Air Conference (eduonair).

To watch, visit this page (tinyurl.com/edcodeplus) a few minutes before the session starts, and click on the post that looks like this photo (a giant Play button). It will only show up a few minutes before the session starts.
