Band members were the best New York session players in the 70s and 80s. It was all about the groove.

Just got this album and I'm really enjoying it. I haven't heard this tune since I played it in high school jazz band. I like this take on it.

Great brass playing on this one. Bill Watrus is the trombone player. I'm not sure who the trumpet soloist is.

Great short film about Joe Morello. He had a big influence on my drumming. He was musical, had great chops, but wasn't afraid to keep things simple. Found this via JazzWax.

Great tune by my favorite vibraphone player, Mike Mainieri. It is mostly an vehicle to improvise. The melody is short and out. Mike is not a technical wizard like Gary Burton, but to me, he blends the melodic and the percussive aspects of playing vibes like no one else. I envy his rhythmic variety.

Mike Mainieri: Vibraphone
Michael Brecker: Saxophone
Don Grolnick: Keyboards
Steve Khan: Guitar
Marcus Miller: Bass
Peter Erskine: Drums
