#lawyers do you have these must have apps for your Mobile Device?
It’s been a while since I’ve surveyed the landscape of mobile apps for lawyers, but here we go again. Some apps from my previous post are included, but they have undoubtedly been updated for both functionality and security on the go. This is not an exhaustive list nor am I ranking them. These are simply the mobile apps that I have found reviewed and discussed most on law firm and practice management blogs across the Web, including the American Ba...

The American Association of Law Libraries has recognized our collaboration with +HeinOnline08, jointly awarding both companies the 2014 New Product of the Year.

Now subscribers to both services can access both primary law and secondary materials in both HeinOnline and in Fastcase.

This is the third time Hein has been recognized for the award, and the second time Fastcase has. We're very proud of our work with Hein, and grateful to AALL for this recognition!

The great work of +Carl Malamud, +Dave Zvenyach, +Waldo Jaquith, DC Legal Hackers, and many others have elevated this issue to the point where it's the cover story in this month's ABA Journal. Open access to law makes +Fastcase possible. We all own the law, and everyone should be free to innovate, use, or improve it.
These days the smallest and most exclusive piece of real estate in Washington, D.C., is the sliver of common ground that exists between congressional Democrats and Republicans. But during a January hearing before the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee on the scope of copyright protection laws, Democrats and Republicans were in broad agreement on an issue that was seemingly settled long ago: No one can own the law.

I'm just giddy about teaching the Law of Robots at Georgetown Law this fall. We'll be talking about how to regulate self-driving cars, surgical robots, stock-trading computers, and other science fiction that surrounds us every day.

Link to the course description here: http://apps.law.georgetown.edu/curriculum/tab_courses.cfm?Status=Course&Detail=2504

Exciting topic, and my first time teaching. Should be big fun!
