The interstate highways in Hawaii, more precisely on the island of Oahu, are all about money.  Oahu was in desperate need of some highways to move the traffic in and out of Honolulu--it has horrific traffic problems--so the locals and the state DOT came up with H-1, H-2 and H-3 to get the federal government to pay for almost all of it.  At the U.S. highway level, such as U.S. 1 and the old Route 66, the feds and the states shared the cost of those roads 50-50.  Anything lower on the pecking order such as county roads and city streets generally gets paid for at those levels; state roads get paid for by the state governments.  At the highest level, the interstates, the feds pick up 90% of the construction costs leaving the paltry 10% to the states.  So this is why there are interstate highways in Hawaii with their unique route prefixes so they aren't confused with mainland routes with the same numerals. +Phil Hopkins

Wish I lived in Washington so I could vote for this initiative.

The article states, "The brand of the violin was unknown on Saturday morning."

One has to appreciate the dedication of these reporters to getting to the bottom of the story.
A naked man playing violin in front of a downtown Portland courthouse refused to walk to a squad car under his own power and had to be carried by police.

Wish I forgot about doing things like this...
Four years ago, Oslo-man Christopher Koch's girlfriend scoffed at his purchase of $27-worth of Bitcoin. Chances are she was singing a decidedly different tune last April, when Koch checked back in on his investment and found out it was worth $886,000. And over a cool million today.
