The most drastic step yet in the long-running saga of photojournalism vs. RAW.

Hi All, This is a short 3 minute film my (future) brother-in-law Frederick John has made (with his talented art director Frances Von Fleming) as part of a film-making competition for the tourist board in Umbria. Alongside the judge's decision, 30% of the overall result relies on the total number of views, in any case this is well worth a watch on a big screen and the sound turned right up - sensational stuff!

Really tasty authentic beef flank Pho and Bun Cha Nem Thit Nuong noodles. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, better priced than little Vietnam in Shoreditch. Just opened, do visit!

DO NOT USE. I took my car for it's MOT last week which it passed. However Louis from Kar-Dok took the opportunity to try and rip me off by quoting over double the going rate for a cambelt and water pump change (around £700 instead of £300). My main issue is that when I took the car home I noticed a dent in the nearside wheel arch. This could only have occurred during the previous 24 hrs whilst my car was in the care of Kar-Dok as it had been parked with the nearside to the pavement outside my house for 3 weeks. I sent Louis a polite email with photos last Sunday and have tried to call a couple of times this week to discuss, but he has not called back. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but on this occasion I feel obliged: unreliable and dishonest. Update 12/06/15: My car had been parked in front of my front door for 3 weeks with the nearside wheel arch facing my door so I would have noticed any damage immediately prior to my MOT, just as I did when I returned home directly from Kar-Dok to park in the same spot, which incidentally is less than a 5 minute drive away. I approached Kar-Dok in a completely reasonable manner to discuss the damage, but after a week of no replies I felt an illuminating review was my only option to elicit a response, which seems to have worked. In fact, I was only going to suggest they refund the cost of the MOT and probably would have accepted less. Avoid....

If you don't mind being in the middle of nowhere with incredible views, this is quite a remarkable place to visit. A restoration project run by the host Alexandre (who lives off site), this is a magical spot if you are looking to walk or cycle the hills and gorges surrounding St Guilhem. Basic, but comfortable and with plenty of character, it is not necessarily for the faint hearted; the 25 mins drive up requires a sturdy (or hire) car and a bit of careful driving, the walk down to St Guilhem a fair 1hr trek down some rocky paths - we half expected to meet some mountain goats coming the other way. The Gite is available to be rented out as a whole, or there are 2 individual rooms - the double we stayed in was €40 a night - with a large shared kitchen and seating area, or there is a more cosmopolitan self-contained flat and kitchen for €70 a night with 2 bedrooms, which would be ideal for those who prefer their home comforts i.e. normal (not bio) toilets and own shower. Quite an experience, helped by good weather.
