This Ashgrove floor sanding job involved sanding recycled hardwood floorboards in a 90-year-old home. Thick tile glue was also present in the kitchen and bathroom. Regardless, the client insisted he wanted a flow-on effect of the polished floors into the bathroom area. This Sandgate floor sanding job had borer and water damage. We restored this old worker's cottage back to it's former glory. The client also wanted a slight Walnut stain to lean away from the traditional clear golden pine look. https://youtu.be/jMtC9rP-3cU

We always take pictures and video of existing damage prior to sanding a floor - especially kitchens. This is because we guarantee 'in writing" no damage to our client's homes. The person who polished these floors previously slapped the coating all over these kickboards. I think this is just good practice to avoid disputes at the end of a job with cold hard proof it was already there.

Brisbane floor sanding customers enquiring about prices frequently fall into one of three main categories.
Customers that:
- Want the cheapest price they can possibly get and
- Are not concerned with anything else.

Customers that:
 -  Definitely want a good job.
 - Don’t know exactly what they are getting.
 - Haven’t done any research.
 - The cheapest price ends up being their motivating factor.

Customers that:
- Want the highest quality floor possible.
- Want it to last 10 to 20 years – not 2 years.
- Have done their research.
- Know that polished floors vary GREATLY in quality and durability.
- Want the higher quality finish, are happy to pay a competitive price for it.
Make sure you get real value for money. Read this post to get the full picture.

My god! Is it just me or is it just in Brisbane... is anyone else having trouble with ants coming in on the 1st, 2nd and final coats. The last two jobs I completed I ended up putting 5 coats on them and still had dead ants stuck in the poly after the fifth coat! Trying to cut ants off with a razor blade after a fifth coat is not my idea of fun. Seems to be at the external walls or doors. On one job it looked like they were coming OUT of the door itself!

I have been surface spraying the problem areas and as usual, sealing under the doorways with tape but their still getting in. I am contemplating having the owners of every job have a pest treatment done prior to sanding and polishing their floors.
If they don't, it's just going to inconvenience them if their job time frames are extended.

Surely this must be happening to someone else.
