If you really want to ensure you're getting what you pay for in terms of organic, you may have to find a shorter supply chain for your food. #knowyourfarmer

Beautiful squash from @cheyennesroadmarket in southern NJ. Roasted it and then stewed it in broth and tomato sauce - delicious! #localfood #seasonalfood

Thrilled with our new Le Creuset cast iron skillet which was an awesome price at Sur la Table! I guess this "fennel" color and handle style are being phased out so it was on discount. Excited to use it to test all the fall recipes for EatLuv! #score #lecreuset #recipetesting

I participated in a farm-to-table demo of stuffed grape leaves last Friday - what a great experience! It was part of a public school summer language program where the students were learning Arabic. We got the grass-fed beef from Whiffletree Farm in Warrenton VA and the veggies from Powers Farm and Brewery in Gainesville VA. Love supporting local farms!

One of the best things about summer: fresh berries! These beauties are organically grown at Powers Farm & Brewery @powersfarmbrew in Gainesville, VA. #eatluv

"Consumers  are going to continue to hold all industries, not just food, to a higher level of standards. In the new economy, purpose, not cash, is king. This evens the playing field for smaller businesses, since Millennial consumers in particular are looking to support brands that make them feel like part of a solution rather than part of a problem."

Lovely video of one of our partner farms, Whiffletree Farm in Warrenton, VA. We love hearing Jesse Straight talk about organic farming and caring for the land. #organicfarming

"Perhaps the problem with the farm-to-table movement is implicit in its name. Imagining the food chain as a field on one end and a plate of food at the other is not only reductive, it also puts us in the position of end users. It’s a passive system — a grocery-aisle mentality — when really, as cooks and eaters, we need to engage in the nuts and bolts of true agricultural sustainability. Flavor can be our guide to reshaping our diets, and our landscapes, from the ground up." #farmtotable
