⏰4:00 AM workout DONE!⏰
Then I got back in bed to sleep more 👍🏼💤😴. 4 am is probably about 2 hours earlier than I'd like to start my workout but with the new baby it's a guaranteed 4 hours in the morning. She wakes me up to nurse and since I'm wide awake I might as well workout when she's done! So that's what I did and it was awesome! First uninterrupted workout I've had since I started working out again! 👍🏼👊🏼👏🏼

3rd day working out postpartum... I woke up early SO EXCITED to do my workout.
There are 2 remarkable things about that statement:
1️⃣ I woke up EARLY🌅
2️⃣ I was EXCITED to do my workout! 😃🏋🏼

I used to struggle with both. I hated waking up early and I hated working out. But the fix was unbelievably easy...I simply changed my mind.
I began telling myself daily, "I am so excited and grateful to wake up early and do my workout."
It took awhile...but eventually my brain began to believe it. Now my brain is on auto pilot. No more fighting myself, forcing myself, dreading...simply this: I love working out! It's a gift and I am blessed to be able to do it!
Try this trick with anything you want to accomplish in your life. Once an idea (good or bad) is settled in your heart your actions, and consequently results, will come almost automatically. This is why Solomon says, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." (Proverbs 4:23)

39 Weeks and not stopping yet...
My feelings ==>>>"I'm looking for Solutions not Excuses!" (said by one of the girls in my Victory Club -- LOVE THAT!) Isn't that the truth? We can so easily let the littlest things keep us from doing the important things.
In this case...with this belly...doing a real pull up is just not happening. Normally in a workout I would just lift weights that closely used the same muscle (or when in doubt---just do a squat! It's all good and it all counts!) But this is a really cool adjustment. I'm using one of those resistance bands and there is an attachment that goes on any door. Lean forward into a lunge and works the same muscle group as a pull up but not as hard to do. Step back for more resistance.
Another option is a bungee that attaches to the pull up bar and helps bounce-you-up a little so you can eventually do a full pull up. As you progress in strength you can pull out 1 or 2 of the 3 bungees to make the "bounce up" motion less and less.
Workout Wednesday!!! What's your workout today???

option 1:
Door Band Kit (all u need is a door that has hinges!):

option 2 (if you want to progress to real pull ups)

Chin-Up Max (foot bungee that attaches to pull up bar):

Great pull up bar (requires no tools, just hooks to a door frame):

Ever wonder how celebrities and fitness professionals lose weight so quickly after having a baby and then keep it off? I know I did. I thought...Iif I could just learn their secret. I spent 5 years after my baby was born feeling uncomfortable, obese, and not myself.

And then I learned the secret. It's actually a really simple science. But it's not rocket science (thank goodness!) and there are no short cuts BUT it's guaranteed to work. You can lose up to 2 lb per week...EVERY week. You don't have to buy anything--likely you already have everything you need at your house.

I'll be teaching you exactly how I lost 70lb in 7 months. So check out this training webinar--we are live in 15 min! (9pm AZ time) For the live link (or the recorded link tomorrow morning) just sign up here to have it sent to your inbox:

Do you remember playing outside until mom called you in for dinner? If parents don't take action, today’s kids probably won’t.
In the last 20 years childhood has moved indoors. The average American boy or girl spends as few as 30 minutes in outdoor play each day and more than seven hours each day in front of an electronic screen.

Some of my fondest memories were playing outside! What about you? Not to mention all the great health benefits we got. Outdoor play and exercise has been known to lower childhood obesity, diabetes, and cancer. We also know that kids (and adults) are experiencing Vitamin D deficiency at epidemic proportions (linked to bone problems, diabetes, heart disease, and more). Guess where you are supposed to get Vit. D? ...Sunshine!

We have a a ranch on 5 acres, the weather is gorgeous, and even with ALL that.. if I'm not encouraging these kids to get outside and PLAY there is a lot of reasons they would stay inside and NOT play outdoors
Starting with....
kindles, movies, minecraft, American dolls, littlest petshop, calico critters, legos, cars, drawing, etc etc etc (you know what I'm talking about, right parents?!)

And none of those things are bad to me. Some in moderation more than others. But the goal is to get them to make "outside play" second nature. Not reaching for a "device".

And this takes more than a little urging from me. Actually total direction. They are only allowed to play their kindles (as video games, aka minecraft, etc) on Saturdays for 4 hours. We purposely don't have cable but do have netflix and amazon prime TV-- all movies are at my discretion and very infrequent (on purpose). And then I have to just simply straight up tell them each day, "ok, time to go inside!" And if they try and come back in, I let them know they can help me with the cleaning! :) :) :)

I found one day I actually had to teach them how to pretend! They do play pretend lots, but how to have an imaginary adventure outside that last several hours took some prompting. So I said, "Here take this big long stick, and pretend it is a horse, and name it. Have fun, run around, and have an adventure!"

I used to LOVE being outside growing up. We would play for hours. It is just not second nature to our kids anymore. They aren't learning it from other kids either. We are going to have to teach them (and make them!)

So this Christmas we put our money in making outdoor play that much more awesome. And it was several (many!) days of outdoor family projects putting it all together that created life long memories and taught the kids great lessons.
--Built a tree fort (using all scrap wood. Purchasing stain and screws probably cost $50)
--Installed a tree swing ($13!)
--Bought a SWEET 15' trampoline that came with b-ball hoop+ ball ($259 on sale)
--Refurbished a run down swing set (the metal frame was in good shape just needed spray paint, 2 new swings, trapeze bar, and anchors to keep it from moving - $70 total)
-Put up a slack line (think tight rope! It's a kit--easily attached between 2 trees and has a wide 2" red nylon line you walk across, or even jump on! holds up to 1000 lb! and then you use the overhead blue line to hang on for balance while you are learning $50)

Everything but the screws and paint was bought on amazon (I'll include links at the bottom--yay for prime shipping and having huge heavy boxes delivered to my house!)

All I can say is huge success. It was completely worth it. They love it, are playing outside right now and all I hear is happy laughter. Money and time well spent! Wouldn't you say?

So what has worked for you? How do you get your kids outside each day? What do they love to do?
P.S. Don't forget Victory club starts on Monday! Our first webinar will be tomorrow evening, recorded in case you can't make it live. I'll be covering all the basics of how to lose weight, what to eat, how to have long term success and find motivation from within. 35 weeks and 3 days....holy moly I'm going to be having a baby soon! just hit me when I wrote that! Feeling really good - uncomfortable often of course, but other than that baby and I are doing great and all things are normal.

There is a huge link to how you good (or bad) you feel in pregnancy with sleeping and eating well. Fruits and veggies and avoiding processed foods is so key...and naps are a must :) I make all the other 5 kids lay down too. Even the older ones usually take a nap (they play hard every day) or atleast they read and have quiet time. But that way I for sure get a nap too. I'm so much more pleasant after a nap...I'll be the first to admit!

Eating healthfully (and napping) come second nature to me now. I'm no longer tempted by junk food. I haven't had a soda in 10 years. Or my favorite candy (Reese's!). I've learned to make my own healthy desserts (peanut butter cups included-or life would not be worth living ;) jk!)

But I'll readily admit working out used to be the real struggle. This is my post workout pic this morning after doing the cardio workout from the new Hammer and Chisel program. (That was my Christmas present to Derek Abello SEO and his Christmas present to me was a set of Bowflex select tech weights! You click the dial to exactly the weight u cool...).
Many people (including myself) have preconditioning from childhood or past experiences that working out will give pain not pleasure when really the opposite is true. In every way working out makes us feel and look better. But you have to retrain your brain--sheer will power is usually not enough to create a life long habit. This is true for creating healthy eating habits as well. I'll share more how to overcome this in a future webinar.
*I also wanted to alert you to some upcoming exciting news...Stay tuned...I'll post more later... Has to do with fitness, accountability, motivation, and support...and starting the new year strong...check back later today #victoryclub #youreinvited *

October was a busy month and I got out of my routine. Honest to goodness truth (just being real y'all) I didn't work out for like 4 weeks. I started to feel it...but then it really got bad when I noticed it. And then motivation kicked in like no other. I am pregnant but that doesn't mean I'm weak. I'm may have limitations but I'm not totally limited. I just needed something to ease me back in...if we're being honest lets just say workout is not my natural's always been something I tell myself to do.
So I started back up with P90---Tony Horton's home workout program specifically designed for low impact and modifications. It is simple and exactly what I needed. And short--at 24 min a workout I know it will be fast.
Day 1--I started unable to do push ups or plank and 9 days in I can do the full 30 sec of half push-ups and plank too! The progress motivates me to do more and actually surprised me. I thought pregnancy wouldn't allow me to do floor work.
Day 9--I realized the limitation was self created and the truth was I was just out of shape. We can do so much more than we know if only we'd try. It's not a hardcore workout but it's the daily consistent effort producing results.
If you need a entry level program that eases you into working out I can't recommend this one enough. P90:

21 weeks 4 used to take me months to get back to my pre-baby weight. A quick recovery is made possible by eating clean and exercise. Not to say cravings aren't real...they are! #truth! But the baby doesn't need ice cream :) And nutritionally speaking, junk food can do a lot of harm to the baby. I wish McDonald's food had a label that said, "consult your doctor if pregnant or breast-feeding." The FDA requires that all healthy supplements, no matter how good they are for you or the baby, contain that label--and it scares a lot of moms away. But no one second guesses Reese's peanut butter cups which contain toxic amounts of sugar and poisonous preservatives.
Eat clean for you and the baby! It's only 9 months and it's worth it!

Half way!!! Crazy to think about! Baby is the size of a mango :) feeling lots of movement! I'm doing really well, sleep is so important for pregnancy and feeling good, I really noticed a connection this time around so I'm making sure to get enough rest <3 <3 <3 we're going to see that movie "war room?" No clue what it's about but everyone has been saying it's awesome. Got a hot date with this "furry" man ;) ;) ;) for YEARS he has talked about growing a beard once he was self employed. So he wasted no time! I confess it's still growing on me (no pun intended!) what about your man? Does he do facial hair? Do you mind a fuzzy face? :) I'm just thrilled he's home every single day and that God is making our dreams come true....fuzzy face or not :)
