Alberta, Washington and Alaska were so good to us; and we're finally home after the most relational building & growing trip of our lives. I have much to share about so many people, and in time, I hope to. But first, I want to give gratitude to @lukaspiatekphotography for inviting and trusting Joshua and I to speak at @lookslikefilm Choo Choo Camp in Seattle. As it was our first big speaking event, we were definitely super nervous, but the group was so welcoming, gracious and kind. You guys, we learned SO much from each person there. My heart was personally touched, encouraged and comforted by so many of you during this hard time in my life. I know my dad would have loved to meet you all! ❤ A special thank you to @iamjesshunter, @rafal_bojar, @jacob_loafman, @myrtle_and_moss_photography, @fundysoftwareinc, @benjhaisch & @bisforbabb for also sharing your hearts with us. And for the amazing staff @magicweddingphotographer, @matthias.jaworski & Seth for all your hard work.
And to Daniel @the_spragues for Mafia--it was the best time ever 🎉 so much love to you all!

My chest lifts the sheets as I gasp for air--the sensation of drowning overwhelms me, and I feel like I can't breathe. The heaviness of my heart is weighing down my soul and memories of my beloved dad are at the front of my mind; drifting to sleep it seems as if they're floating and filling the air above me as I sink. This feeling is almost paralyzingly and every night, just before I fall into rim, I am jolted into consciousness and open my eyes as I deeply gasp for a breath. I kissed his forehead and hugged him over and over and said "I love you daddy, I'll see you soon." Placing my cheek against his, tears streamed down my face and dampened the pillow case; he knew, and I believe that I knew too. I had hope, but knew in my heart that would be the last day that I would feel the warmth of his skin again, or hear his sweet voice say "I love you, EC" (a name that only he and my baby sister call me). One day we were watching the eclipse together on his farm, and then the next he was in the hospital, deteriorating shockingly fast; But that last day with him was beautiful. By his side, along with my sister Michaela and our mom, we listened to him pour his heart out with expressions of thankfulness and love for each person in our family. We all knew. And I never knew a broken heart like I do now.

More than anything else, relationships is what makes living so breathtaking. We're thankful for the new friendship we formed at @socalitycamp, like with these two inspiring people--Joelle & Zack. Their creativity and genuine hearts have been an inspiration; we can't wait to see their story continue to unfold in this beautiful epic called Life ❤

"And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed." Finding perfect peace in the wilderness. Grateful for life and love and cherishing the gift of memory and the selfless investment of others, especially my dad, into my life.

What are you suppose to think when every single emotion of your being is being pulled at in every direction? How can it be so beautiful and so hard at the same time? This feeling is unexplainable. Joshua took this photo and he's my rock. I don't know what I would do without him, especially at this time in my life.

Cherish the ones you love and don't waste time. Life is fragile, and that's what makes it so precious. | featuring Jenna Layne Edwards

For Will, the Granby area is like a second home. He has spent so much time over the years with his grandparents in their mountain abode and describes it as his "favorite place in the world." We strive to take photos for our couples in places that are meaningful to them, so when he and Jen asked us to meet them out in Colorado for their engagement session we were more than excited! During this trip, Will showed his future bride the Rocky Mountain glory for the first time in her life--and that joy is something we'll always remember. It was an honor to document this part of their individual stories becoming their together story.

C O U R A G E,
so much heart-rattling courage this day on Mt. Washington.
A reminder to do the same today...and everyday.
Like a gentle breeze breaks the silence, in my spirit, i feel a still, small voice whisper "I am with you. You're never alone."

I'm learning to wait,
Wait for the healing rain.
The Rain that will make all things beautiful,
And rebirth life.

Doctors, nurses and healthcare workers, when you take the time to hold your patient’s hand, look them in the eye and encourage them in their fight, you are making a difference and giving hope. As my dad has been in the hospital, It’s been a roller-coaster physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. However, each person that has taken the time to stir daddy on to hope has made a significant difference not only in helping him stay strong, but giving us all—his family—courage. My heart is broken and trembling. I'm not strong enough, but I'm trusting in the One who is. Please pray with me for a miracle. https:eastlynbright.com/portfolio
