Remembering a Legend on his Birthday!

"Today we pay tribute to a great champion of industrial #hemp, John Trudell (2/15/46-12/8/15).

John was a noted advocate for the rights of Native peoples, an internationally acclaimed poet and recording artist and an influential philosopher who touched many throughout Indian Country and beyond. Along with endorsing and supporting Hemp History Week, John co-founded Hempstead Project HEART in 2012 with Willie Nelson as a project of the national #environmental, non-profit Earth Island Institute.

John referred to hemp as "Earth Medicine". He traveled the country to inform communities and organizations about hemp’s potential to create vibrant, earth-friendly, local economies that nourish our lands and bodies while mitigating climate change. He saw the potential for industrial hemp agriculture to address poverty and dispossession among land-based peoples, particularly farmers and Native peoples."

Learn more about how Hempstead Project Heart (Hemp Energies Alternative Resource Technologies) is continuing on the path that JT blazed, http://us10.campaign-archive2.com/?u=a62954133a8fe73c0bd0914a2&id=58565199b0
