- AuthorFiction, 2011 - presentFlash, short and novel length fiction. My first book, "Impenetrable Falsehoods," was released in October 2013 by ALL CAPS Publishing.
E.W. Storch is a writer of fiction with a fantastical bent, taking inspiration from such great authors as Neil Gaiman, Theodore Sturgeon, Kurt Vonnegut, J.R.R. Tolkien, Samuel R. Delany, Jack Vance, William Gibson and Robert A. Heinlein - just to name a few (and his personal favorites).
Mr. Storch relishes in creating believable characters and putting them in terrible situations just to see what will happen. Sometimes, everything turns out okay for his hapless victims.
In 2013, Mr. Storch released a collection of short fiction, Impenetrable Falsehoods, through the offices of ALL CAPS PUBLISHING. The collection has received favorable reviews, the writing described as having a, "...lyrical style and compelling imagination." Others have said of the collection that it is, "Deeply personal, and touchingly lovely, even when the surface is dingy..." and "The writing is superb, each character so real and alive that the “windows” we’re given to each life stayed with me, lingering long after I turned the page."
2014 will see E.W. Storch hard at work on a novel about a small-town New England witch struggling with a dangerous family legacy. The germ for this story was planted a few years ago, and Mr. Storch is determined to tell a believable, character-driven story. He is also determined that the book will not be Young Adult fiction as so many supernatural-type stories are lately.
Mr. Storch will also be posting a serial novel on his blog beginning in mid January.
Mr. Storch professes to be a good liar and claims that skill makes him a good storyteller. He says the two go hand in hand. Currently, he lives within the forests of New England with his wife and three children.
