Registration is now open for #EMPPopCon

Exploding conventions has long put the bomp in pop: the uncontainable desire of those deemed sexually unnatural, racial impostors, gender outlaws, obsessed fans, willful bohemians, or just plain weird. This year’s EMP Pop Conference offers more than 125 presentations exploring the subject of music and transgression.

While spending the day in Seattle , I had time to to kill and the EMP museum offered a number of great exhibits that were unique and fun to explore! Just a few steps from the base of the space needle, this museums exterior is somewhat "dream-like" in appearance, and it has something to offer for all age groups at a reasonable price. They even have a music making section of the museum where visitors are encouraged to play the array of instruments they have with an option to record themselves to have a nice memento from the visit.

I spent the whole day here with my daughter and we had a blast. Definitely great place to go on a rainy day with the family. Most of the exhibits are very interactive and fun. I am from Cleveland and this is better than the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. A must see for music lovers in the city!

Fantastic learning experience! Let's you explore the history of modern fashion in wearable art to computer history and the history of games in the gaming lab! Of course there is always the ever popular Star Wars area and the history of Seattle Music legends, then rock away in the sound booths on instruments and vocals!

I haven't had a chance to experience the entire place yet, but I recently attended a work function in the large theater room and it was amazing. I can't wait to come back and see the rest of this place. The building features a one of a kind design!

Visitors and locals always have a blast at Seattle's most interactive and imaginative museum. I have DJed in the Sky Church copious amounts of times and let me tell you they're some of my best events. Staff is friendly, helpful and easy to work with. The Sky Church as room is a piece of art. You'll feel as though you've entered the future when visiting. They create the freshest and most facisinating exhibits. I think it often gets forgotten about by those who live in the greater Seattle area. I remember taking my favorite field trips here as a kid. They're constantly updating the museum with something new for Pop Culture fans to enjoy.

Interesting museum about rock music, in general. It has a nice section on nirvana and Jimmy Hendrix. The guitar arrangement at the entrance is memorable. It also has a Sci-Fi section. But the best parts are usually the temporary exhibits: with costumes from star wars, star trek, Bugs Bunny...

A must visit place if you are in Seattle. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours here. They have wide variety of museums inside here starting from movies to pop music. Though the name suggests only Pop, but it is a misnomer. One of the 5 best places to visit in Seattle.

Microsoft Prime members get a great discount here! 8 dollars for admission (usually $25). I spent time in one exhibit, the Indie Games exhibit, and it was very well done and immersive. I had a lot of fun even in the crowded area, and learned about a lot of different game genres. Be aware things around Seattle Center sometimes close early for events, such as weddings. So you may want to call before you go if you're interested in something in particular, like the Culture bar.
