I'm writing a series of Digital Asset Management advice columns for +Fotoware Germany GmbH , covering the most common emails I receive.
Not a quarter goes by that I do not receive an email similar to this one: Hello - I am writing to you for advice. I’m a (pick one) photographer/librarian/archivist/public relations specialist/graphic designer and recently my company has assigned the care and keeping of a DAM to me.

Many of you may remember this slow motion video from a little over a year ago. The American Chemical Society has now taken this footage—shot at an astounding 4,000 frames per second—to explain what’s actually happening at the molecular level when a match is struck.

This guy has the right idea. Solar heats stored water and pumps it under the driveway and walkways, melting snow at 1.5-inches per hour. The water gets recycled. This should be mandatory now for new construction.
PARAMUS, N.J. — Unlike most New Jerseyans, the Parikh family of Paramus couldn't wait for Winter Storm Jonas -- it let them try out their one-of-a-kind geothermal/solar snow-melt system for the first time. The snow might have climbed over...

Amazon is running a 10% discount on the 2nd edition print copy of my book. Doesn't that old content look worn out when compared to the new stuff? http://amzn.com/1517482887

Were you a teen filled with angst who expressed themselves through poetry? Dr. Kati Corlew has framed her own poems from teenage years and young adulthood with the terminology of developmental psychology, walking the reader through the scientific explanations of why young people frequently express themselves the way they do. In a 200 page compilation that will make readers laugh, cry, and cringe in recognition, fans of self discovery ...

IF Magazine was a monthly science fiction magazine that was first published in 1952, and ran through 1974, before it was merged into its sister publication, Galaxy Science Fiction. Now, you can read the entire run online over on Internet Archive.

I haven't been very active on G+ lately because I've been busy launching that micro press I posted about a few months ago. No Cube Press now has four titles available through Amazon and CreateSpace.

Today is a launch day for an absolute gem of a read. It's everything I love about Southern Lit - Jack and Dragon Man's Daughter is a solid read by +Devon Alley. I've loved her writing since college, so it's flattering that she passed this novella my way.

I'm loving my micropress. If you have any works you'd like published, send them my way. We can work on paying our bills together.

Refreshable Braille Device

Video: https://youtu.be/0fIg4rI4cDw
Article: http://goo.gl/eROAjD

Reading a computer screen in Braille is a cumbersome process today. The visually impaired people who rely on the system of raised dots only have access to one line at a time. Beyond that, current systems don't translate charts or graphs. A team of researchers from Michigan Engineering and the School of Music, Theater and Dance are working on a solution.
