We need to broaden the conversation beyond teaching to consider what kinds of educator roles we need and want for future learning ecosystems. Then we need to consider what those roles might mean for current teachers and administrators and for the preparation of future educators.

“According to data released by the U.S. Department of Education, Alabama has experienced one of the nation’s steepest increases in high school graduation rates, though the 8 point rise between 2010 and 2013 still leaves the state one point below the national average.”

“Driven by Data” may be a decade old – school people may be tired of data rooms – but the power of data to drive great conversation and insights was abundantly clear at our quarterly KnowledgeWorks board meeting in Cincinnati this week.

For Hannah, a rising senior at Loveland High School, an internship with us is a chance to explore her interests and see how they apply in the real world as well as try out a possible career option.

Last week, 429 seniors graduated from Reynoldsburg High School. This marks a significant accomplishment for the students – the culmination of four years of hard work as they prepare for college and career. The event also marks a huge success for Reynoldsburg City Schools. This was the first graduating class of students who spent all four years of high school within one of the interest-based academies: BELL Early College Academy, Encore Academy, eSTEM Academy and Health Sciences & Human Services Academy, also  known as (HS)2.
