This was a lot of work! I converted my recent Carina astrophoto to 3D Stereo with a few tips and tricks from J-P Metsävainio. Seeing one of my photos come to life in 3 dimensions is a real treat! The depth is not scientifically accurate, although the photo is real and current, the 3D is mapped by luminosity alone. It is a nice approximation though :) NOTE : this gif runs wayyy too fast on new iPhones and computers! #astrophotography #celestronrocks #photoshop #hyperstar #narrowband #bicolour

- Really nice one! Very smooth zoom, how did you do that? Just simply zooming in a little more on each layer? And did you do that while doing the displacement for each layer or did you apply the zoom afterwards?Feb 8, 2016
You have the image deconstructed then reconstructed into multiple layers. Large stars, small stars, foreground nebula and background.
Then, you create an animation timeline. Make each layer a smart object. In the video timeline, go to the end of the video and for each layer, drop the layer drop-down and toggle transform. Then, transform (ctrl + t)each layer to it's ending position. Set the video length. Touch up, and export to video.
Animation Timeline Transform is only CS6 or later.Feb 8, 2016
