What funny is we all knew this was the case right from the beginnning. Just not the ANC Speaker and her sense of entitlement.
The Western Cape High Court has ruled that the Powers and Privileges Act is only applicable to non-members of Parliament.

Today's #xkcd  comic shows how brilliantly Randall can take a complex topic and put it into a simplistic form the average Joe can grasp and understand. Here he takes our current global warming predicament and, in a single image, delivers the underlying message so clearly even a simpleton would get it.

A rather interesting take on artificial waves for surfing. Instead of filling a large tank with millions of litres of water and letting it go all at once to make the wave, drag a wedge under water along a track and have the bow wave it produces break along a specially shaped lagoon floor.

Apparently they can make up to a 3m wave - but flip they must be shunting that wedge fast to get the bow wave that high! The first installation is being put in in Snowdownia in the UK, but it looks like a second one is on the cards in Bristol too. Is this the future of in-land surfing? Give the vid in the article a watch to see how it works in real life.

Christmas time is nearly upon us, and so that means the annual Christmas traditions are here too! One of my favourites is when baking the Christmas Cake, everyone takes a turn stirring the batter and making a Christmas wish. All the happiness and excitement goes into the cake and I swear it tastes better for it! Clockwise from Left we've got Kaitlyn (6), Keigan (4), +Taryn Moore and then finally Dayne (2).

Storm surf hit #Durban  over these last few days. Standing on the end of New Pier this morning at low tide, there were a couple of pearlers coming through. Just too on its head for any surfers to dare go out unfortunately.

As the auto backup continues, so more and more auto-awesomes appear. Quite fun each morning to check what has been auto-awesomed over night. Here's a couple of fun ones from a Kruger trip back in 2013.

We've all been waiting for years but finally JSE (Johannesburg Stock Exchange) data is available on Google Finance. Pretty awesome to be able to add South African shares onto your portfolios and to look up historical data while putting together your watchlists.

The HMV Curzon in Wimbledon is a refreshing retake on the experience of going to the "movies". The foyer area where you buy your tickets and snacks doubles as a coffee & cocktail bar with ample seating and free wifi. You are welcome to take your drinks in to the screening with you too - a well timed glass of wine or beer can defintely improve some of the titles the studios are pumping out these days! The equipment they use in each of the 3 cinemas is really top notch - personally I found the picture and sound quality leagues better than that in the nearby Odeon cinema. Most importantly though, when it comes to the latest "fad" of 3D films, the experience at HMV Curzon is incomparably better than that of Odeon. Why? Because HMV Curzon uses an "active shutter 3D system" instead of the normal polarised 3D system. The internet is full of why active shutter 3D results in a better result, but you need to experience it yourself - you'll never want to go back to those silly black plastic polarised glasses! Overall, I would highly recommend the HMV Curzon cinemas over the local alternative for the adult audience, but for kids and young adults where going to the movies is just as much about whom you're seen with and by as it is about what you're actually watching, stick to the Odeon.
