You know how exciting it is to start something new? Extremely. For me, I love to learn new things and put a new project in motion, but when the shininess wears off, so does my enthusiasm, and it’s not long before another “best-new-thing” hits the trash…

When you're building skills personally or professionally, how do you keep moving forward?

Have you ever started a new creative hobby? Think back to some of your first accomplishments, and how that felt for you. How did that encourage you and propel you forward to keep learning more and doing more? For me and photography, all it took was a…

It’s no secret that other people arrange their houses differently than you do, or have different routines and habits. (The real battle is, which way does the toilet paper hang?) Usually, that’s no problem. You have your house or apartment, other people…

It’s true, even in this day and age of apps, games, Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, and Netflix, Keys for Kids Radio is still positively impacting children for Jesus. Even though listening habits are certainly different than five or ten years ago, radio still…

Hello all, I've been listening to the podcast for some months, and as Larry recommends the group for questions, here goes mine:

Ubuntu Studio 16.04
Dell Latitude E6410

I added a second hard drive to hold my large files, primarily photos, to free up room on my boot drive. But today I discovered that I cannot copy files to the drive, even though I've copied many photos and files to the drive previously. I checked the permissions for the mountpoint /mnt/sdb1 and they are: rwxr-xr-x. If I want to copy files, should this not be rwxrwxrwx?

I've tried using the GUI and CLI to add the x to the group and users bits, but for some reason Ubuntu simply won't do it. I've also tried adding 'rw' to fstab and unmounting/remounting, but still no luck.

After searching the usual forums, nothing has helped me, so I'm hoping the gracious members of this group could help a Linux newbie as myself. Thank you for any advice!
