But using uncommon words just to appear smart only creates a divide between people. Wise people care about the communication, not the words.
Numbers in foreign countries can be set up to charge your phone bill a lot of money without you knowing it, simply by calling that number. Since Caribbean countries use the same numbering scheme as the US, they don't appear to be foreign, and most people don't realize they are at any risk from dialing the number back. These scammers often call in the middle of the night to increase the chance that they'll irritate the victim enough to call back.
So be safe, and don't return calls from unknown numbers, especially if they're from foreign countries.
