So as I'm sure you're aware, I've been on a Star Wars kick of late. Truth be told, it started with that magnificent trailer for Episode 7. But I've been playing Star Wars The Old Republic quite a bit, and watching episodes of The Clone Wars on Netflix.  After a couple of episodes featuring Luminari Unduli and Bariss Offee, the pair quickly became two of my favorite non-lead characters. So of course, nothing would do but for me to create a jedi in SWTOR of the Mirialen race (whose name I had to look up).

Fortunately, SWTOR does offer the Mirialen as a race, and even better luck, I had it unlocked! So I present to you - Jedi Consular Lleyna, soon to be a member of House Bloodpetal.

I will return to my smuggler, and continue to level her to max, and then, should I still be playing SWTOR, shall level my new jedi.

As an even greater bonus, the flat, infectionless voice acting for the Consular fits the quiet, solemn nature of the Mirialen perfectly!

YES I couldn't agree more! That would be my next favorite race to play for sure.

In a Galaxy Far Far Away.. you can earn 12x XP.
So right now, through some indefinite amount of time described only as "the fall" Bioware/EA is giving you 12x XP rewards for any story mission you complete. That's right - that's not a typo. TWELVE TIMES. It's pretty remarkable. It's turned on automaticall...

Neverwinter Nights
I know I know.. but when a title works, you don't throw it out just because it's cheesy! And for the last three weeks, that's pretty much where I've been spending my nights.  So I thought I might spend a little time talking about what's great and what's not...

My schedule - pretty much any weekday morning between 7:00am to 9:00am, or for this week, any weekday evening from 11:00pm to 12:00pm. I know precious little time. I can prolly also find time this weekend.

Would love to have a little guild -- just for a working chat room with friends.

Quick question for +Brenda Holloway about #Neverwinter, whom I know is playing it at a way more advanced level than I am, with real friends and everything!

Do class roles eventually become important and distinct in group situations?

I'm currently level 31. Run the first two dungeons numerous times, and the first three skirmishes even more. My experience thus far has been that the class roles feel even squishier than they did in Guild Wars 2 - which is pretty squishy.  That is, party makeup doesn't seem to matter much, there aren't a lot of specific boss mechanics to worry about, and there's not much technically going on. That's not to say that it isn't fun - it is, but it's fun in the very general "we just get five people together and smash things".  And with companions along for the ride, I feel like I'm getting healed, but honestly couldn't even tell you if it was party members or companions doing the healing.

In any event, I'm having a grand time, but just curious if in the later game the fights become more technical, and if the class role distinctions become more pronounced.

Also +Pete Smith may be interested to know as well. :)

Great feedback +Brenda Holloway and thanks for that! It will be interesting to see the dynamics change as the difficulty ramps up. So far I've been very happy playing the rogue, because by far and large I flat out out-DPS everyone in the group - which is pretty much all I ever wanted in a rogue to begin with.

Not surprising that they become the first to die, given the number of boss mobs I'm already seeing that like to just park in the middle of their own PBAOE circles.

Your description of what happens as a guardian fighter seems to pretty much fit what I've been seeing as well, lol - tanks take damage, clerics kite.. rogues die.. etc. :)

So I watched a movie called Blindness last night late after getting home from crunch on SyFy. It was an extraordinarily depressing movie with a surprisingly strong cast. I'd never heard of it, but I guess it came out in 2008.
