There are all sorts of interesting things in this set of articles. The article entitled "Plays Well With Others" I think has relevance to the wider electronic music scene and not just modular.
An issue exploring ideas around modular synthesis in live performance and fixed media composition, design, patching, pedagogy and methodology.

Hmmm, getting harder to resist buying into Roli!
The Seaboard RISE is a revolutionary MIDI controller that is exceptionally expressive and easy to use

Temptations, oh seriously way too many. I'm feeling good about the lack of space in my eurorack case since that'll stave off some of the temptation for a while. Getting to the point that there's no point in planning a future rack, just wait until sufficient funds have been accumulated and see what's been released that week!! Olivier from Mutable Instruments made the point today that he's had to shelve some projects due to others beating him to the punch with some new modules. Chris from Audio Damage made the same point about Olivier a few months back. Still, all good for the musician I think.

EigenD question: I want to have an on/off switch on a key, that generates a gate into my modular. ON=gate high, OFF=gate low. Anyone (+Geert Bevin?) ideas as to how to achieve this?

Does the Latch agent work this way? I have Expert Sleepers & ES-3 if that helps.

Objective here is to have the option of running sound from EigenD through a MI Clouds and be able to trigger the Freeze from my Alpha.

It's not every day you get to see someone play a grand piano with a pair of toilet brushes in your national Concert Hall. Saw Nils Frahm do this last night at the end of a superb gig. The geek in me also had to take a pic of his stage setup (2x Juno 60, Moog Taurus, Rhodes, close mic'd grand piano, upright, and an assortment of effects including the Roland tape echos he's well known for).

Trying to build EigenD from github today on a different machine to the one I've developed on before. I'm getting the following error and was wondering if anyone else has seen this??

In file included from lib_juce/modules/juce_graphics/juce_graphics.cpp:137:
lib_juce/modules/juce_graphics/native/juce_mac_CoreGraphicsContext.mm:510:13: error: comparison of function 'CGContextDrawTiledImage' not equal to a null pointer is always true [-Werror,-Wtautological-pointer-compare]

Ive made the same changes, and pushed them.

It's NAMM teaser time, and it looks like there are more interesting controllers on the horizon. Not much to go on in this video though.
2016 NAMM Show: French startup Expressive E will be introducing Touché, described as an ‘innovative controller with unmatched sensitivity’, at the Winter NAMM Show. Today, they shared t…

I like it. I can easily imagine this and, say, a Mother-32 as a nice, compact combo.

Alchemy's back in Logic as expected.
Improved UI and synthesis is neat, but spectral-based audio morphing really impresses.

so it took about 8 hours for me to download everything including the 14GB of additional content... so far looks good.
its nice that it includes new spectral stuff,
you can select 'legacy' (i.e your existing alchemy packs) directly from the browser without moving/copying stuff. nice touch.
also its in MainStage 3.2, which I really must learn to use. (always found its UI a bit confusing), so great value for $29!
lets hope now apple develop it further, which they have not had a great track record of in the past eg. sculpture :(
oh, and no midi mode, no MPE, and we seem to have lost polyAT as well :(

Shiny new mk3 breathpipe for the alpha arrived today, along with a spare instrument cable.

Ive not had any time to practise until this evening, and not much tonight either! From a quick test using the clarinet in eigenD it does seem more responsive and require less pressure.

No worries. Yes, I was the guy with the large camera across and down a bit. I was going to drop over and say hello, but never quite got around to it. I spent most of the evening chatting with Simon Boyle (@beinmysolo).
I shall make sure to say hello the next time our paths cross!
