Today's Nexus rumors! How does a live Nexus support app sound? Or, are you ready for one ugly navigation bar redesign?

#android #nexus #google #androidn #nexus6p #nexus5x #news

http://drd.life/292FQ3E
Not surprisingly, Android news is pretty slow these days, as it always is in the lead-up to a new version of the OS. Google more than likely doesn’t want to out anything too fun at the moment, since we are only two months or so from stable Android N going public and new Nexus devices …

This isn't a deal! It's cheaper through Fi and has been. Quit posting about these N5X "deals"! They're always more than Fi through these. You're sending people to spend more than they need to. Sheesh.

OnePlus 3 got the teardown treatment today. See the insides here.

#android #oneplus #oneplus3

http://drd.life/28Sj81v
Tech outfits like to “teardown” phones and other gadgets for a couple of reasons. For one, we’re all nerds and like looking at cables, batteries, screws, circuits, speakers, ports, boards, and displays in their raw, disconnected form. But the other reason is because we also like to ponder the idea of fixing these things ourselves …

WhatsApp users place 100 million calls every single day. That seems like a lot.

#android #whatsapp

http://drd.life/28S2ZJm
When you have billions of users and are on the phones of 1 in 7 people across the globe, it makes sense that your usage numbers fall into the “Holy sh*t, that’s a lot of” category. The latest example of such from WhatsApp was announced today via blog post, where the increasingly popular chat app …

Universal search comes to Netflix on Android TV!

#android #androidtv #netflix

http://drd.life/28ZQJTN
According to simultaneous tweets and G+ posts by official Android accounts, it appears as if Netflix has finally been added to Android TV’s universal search function. That means you should see suggestions for Netflix and also find search results for Netflix shows when you use the main Android TV search functionality. I don’t know why …

Update coming to the OnePlus 3 that adds sRGB mode and tweaks RAM management some.

#android #oneplus #oneplus3

http://drd.life/292tdWx
Since the OnePlus 3 starting arriving on non-privileged media’s doorsteps and additional reviews began rolling out, this narrative over the quality of the phone’s display and RAM management have really come to the forefront. Or maybe better put, people aren’t exactly excited about the direction that OnePlus took the AMOLED panel of the 3 and the …

YouTube is just now getting live streaming from mobile. Better late than never?

#android #youtube #vidcon

http://drd.life/2923FZA
YouTube has been in the live streaming game for a number of years now, but you have never been able to live stream from a mobile device. That seems odd, since YouTube is still video king and Google is a company who has heavily invested its future in mobile. Instead, those who want to live …

Need a Nexus rumor to help finish out your week? Here, take a look at an early spec list for one of the rumored HTC Nexus phones, dubbed Sailfish.

#android #htc #nexus #sailfish #news

http://drd.life/290toRY
Back in April, we saw the first batch of reports surface with possible details of the upcoming Nexus phone or phones from Google. The initial rumors focused on codenames of Marlin and Sailfish as those representing two HTC phones that would take over Google’s Nexus program this year, but few other details accompanied those names. Today, thanks to a …

Poll time! Do you prefer on-screen or capacitive buttons?

#‎Android‬

http://drd.life/28O91rJ
We were recently asked on Twitter why we prefer on-screen buttons to capacitive. The fact is, there are many pros and cons to each setup. Don’t believe me? Check out our massive list. Personally, I enjoy the more immersive feeling I get when using on-screen buttons, but really, it comes down to what I would describe …

Introduction
We have this little obsession with Android super devices that find their way onto U.S. networks. Can't explain it, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to do.
