While the name may sound like something out of a science fiction horror film, fat grafting also known as a fat transfer is a trending cosmetic procedure that has various benefits. The technique is one that has emerged within the last ten years or so and has proven to be an excellent way to get the look you want by utilizing cells and tissue already found in your body.

As the name implies, the technique involves the removal of fat from one part of the body and the implantation of these cells to other parts of the body. For example, let’s say you dislike the size of your thighs and that you have been considering a facelift for some time. Fat grafting allows your surgeon to utilize fat from the thighs to be used as a plumping agent for your face in order to provide a more natural outcome.

The technique has also proven very useful when it comes to smoothing out other areas of the body, and it has also shown effective permanency as a filler. Fat grafting is an excellent accompaniment to facelifts and other cosmetic surgeries.

The benefits of fat grafting are endless. The technique also helps improve skin quality. This is due primarily to the fact that stem cells found in fat have a rejuvenating effect. Because of this, a fat transfer can actually help improve wrinkles, pores, sun damage, and other skin problems.

Under the eye of a skilled plastic surgeon, fat grafting can prove to be a very useful technique in getting the look you want. Dr. Salomon has the skills and the eye for detail necessary to perform a successful fat transfer. Contact his office to learn more about this technique and how it can benefit you.

Scleroptherapy is a non-invasive outpatient procedure offered to remove unwanted varicose veins. While the name may be a tongue-twister, the cosmetic technique itself is simple and completed in as little as 15 minutes.

During the procedure, your physician will inject the veins with a solution intended to irritate the vein lining. The weak vein will then collapse in order to be reabsorbed by the body. This removes the sight of the unseemly surface veins, making them virtually invisible. The most common complication is usually minor bruising near or around the injection site following the procedure.

One of the most common questions that patients usually ask about the treatment, other than how to pronounce it, is usually, “How many treatments will I need?” As with many other cosmetic procedures, the answer to this question varies depending on the patient and his or her needs. You may require only one session or multiple depending on your situation.

Dr. Salomon’s office offers complimentary consultations in order customize your treatment plan. During this consultation he will answer any questions that you might have and help guide you through the procedure. Contact him today to learn more about the benefits of sclerotherapy.

More people are seeking out plastic surgery in order to obtain the physical features that they desire. So, what are the cosmetic procedures that people are getting the most? To answer this question, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons has released their 2013 results for the United States.

In the report, the organization discovered that there were 15.1 million cosmetic procedures scheduled in 2013. This is an increase of 3% from the previous year. Going deeper into the study, the findings showed that a lot of these procedures were to be expected. For example, breast implants along with Botox remained high on the list. It was also discovered that buttock augmentation and neck lifts were also trending.

Other procedures also experienced an increase. For example, eyelid surgeries and facelifts rose by 6% during this year. Also, soft tissue fillers went up by 13%, and chemical peels increased by 3% from 2012. Scar revision and hand surgery also saw some increases throughout this time period.

Of course, the report also showed some surprising declines. For example, the amount of patients that underwent liposuction decreased by 1%. Nose reshaping also saw a decrease in trend, falling by 9% from the previous year. Laser hair removal was also down by 4%.

While the specifics continue to fluctuate, sometimes in surprising ways, it appears as though cosmetic surgery in general is becoming more accepted by the general population in the United States. More people are looking towards plastic surgery to help achieve the figure that they want in order to gain a higher sense of self-esteem.

Botox has become a major name in the field of cosmetic surgery. However, there are some questions that people still have concerning the procedure, the main ones being, “What is BOTOX®?”, “Is it right for me?”, and “How Does the Procedure Work?”

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles, intended to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines for a short period of time. It has also been used to treat neurological disorders such as migraines as well as severe sweating disorder. BOTOX® functions by blocking nerve impulses that control muscle contractions around the injection area allowing them to soften and relax. This is why BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to correct and prevent fine lines around the eyes along, brow and forehead.

Since it only takes a few tiny injections, BOTOX® procedures are quick, easy, and minimally invasive. The procedure typically only takes a few minutes to complete and does not require anesthesia. The injections are applied with a fine needle that is injected into specific muscles resulting in minor discomfort.

Patients can expect to see results within 1 to 3 days following the treatment. Maximum results may take up to 2 weeks to appear. When the procedure is done by a knowledgeable and skilled plastic surgeon, the results are natural and give you the appearance of being refreshed.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a treatment that is usually sought after by patients that have unseemly wrinkles that they would like to get rid of. As with most other procedures, it is suggested that patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or who have a neurological disease should not seek out BOTOX® Cosmetic. You should also consult with your cosmetic surgeon to find out if BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you.

Rhinoplasty is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures sought after these days. Both men and women turn to getting a nose job in order to achieve the appearance they  want. The question that always arises is, “how long does it take to recover?”

The recovery period is a result of two factors- how you’ve prepared for surgery and the skill level of your cosmetic surgeon. While the general answer to this varies, it is usually recommended that patients refrain from participating in any strenuous activities for at least one month following surgery. Your surgeon may also recommend wearing a nose splint for the first few days following surgery in order to promote the fastest and safest healing process. In most cases, swelling goes down significantly in approximately two weeks.

As with any surgical procedure, it is difficult to give any definitive answer as to how long it will take a patient to recover from his or her nose job. The answer tends to vary between procedures. The only suggestion that one can give is to consult your surgeon and adhere to the recommendations he or she provides in order to guarantee optimal results with minimal recovery time.

Dr. Jhonny Salomon offers his patients the opportunity to  schedule  complimentary consultations with him in order for patients to gain a greater understanding of what to expect from the rhinoplasty procedure. With his guidance, your recovery time will be minimal and the results will exceed your expectations. You’ll leave his office with a natural appearance to help you boost your self confidence.

Cosmetic Surgery has gained increased popularity in recent years. According to research from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), the number of cosmetic procedures increased by 17 percent in the last year. It was recorded that 50,122 procedures were performed during this time. According to President of BAAPS, this trend is partly due to an upswing in the economy along with dissatisfaction from non-surgical procedures that failed to give the results that patients wanted.

These numbers indicate that breast augmentation surgeries increased by 13% in the UK. It was also revealed that this cosmetic procedure isn’t gender biased. The number of men seeking breast augmentation increased significantly. Liposuction also experienced a significant rise of interest with a 43% and 19% increase from women and men respectively.

This trend comes as no surprise as more people are seeking the help of plastic surgery to obtain the look that they want. These individuals have realized that, with the right procedure, they can get the appearance they want. Selecting the right surgeon is key for maximizing the results and ultimately increasing patient self-esteem.

As our culture continues to place great importance on physical appearance, there is no doubt that the rise in cosmetic procedures will increase. With this growing demand, it is important to keep in mind that invasive cosmetic procedures should be handled only by professional surgeons who are experts in their field. Prior to undergoing any surgical treatment, it is important that you consult with your surgeon to learn more about their credentials and to gain realistic expectations on your outcome.
