That is cool
I wonder if Google and Microsoft are on to something here. Facebook is just Facebook; it has nothing to tie together, no added value beyond itself. But Google+ is the social glue meant to tie together Google's other products (Search, Docs, Reader, etc), and it looks like So.cl is meant to be the same for Microsoft's products. Could that added value be the thing that begins to move people away from a simple social network to a suite of products that allows one to do more? Facebook is not going anywhere anytime soon; it is way too big to be supplanted quickly or easily. But could we be witnessing the beginning of a paradigm shift in what it means to use the Internet as a social tool? If so, this could be a very interesting evolution to watch.
