You will sometimes read about the dangers of using cat nail caps. Declawing cat nails is illegal in Australia (with some exceptions) and for indoor cats these are the perfect solution.

Clipping the nails is not enough if you want to protect children and furniture and while your feline friend will need to learn some new strategies they will adapt to the new clips. If you have an active outdoor feline, claw covers may not be appropriate and you will need to consider the environment she lives in.

This new video demonstrates how to practice adding cat nail covers to your pet cat's front claws. If you are a regular client of mine you will know how I stress the value of cat nail clipping for building a calming and confident relatinship.

And adding cat nail caps (we use the "Soft Paws" brand) is the perfect opportunity for you to take advantage of this terrific bonding experience.

I have a lot of enquiries about using cat nail covers at http://thecatpalace.com.au so I have created this new video series to demonstrate how to attach them to feline claws.

We use the "Soft Claws" nail caps brand and they are invaluable for protecting furniture and, more importantly, young children.

Kitten and cat nail caps are the same thing and have the same result and you can either do them yourself or we can do them for you at the clinic. Dr. Kim
