#FACTFINDER WHAT CAUSES SPLIT ENDS?
Split ends are caused due to disruption of the outer protective covering of the hair by daily wear and tear incurred as a result of faulty handling of the hair fibres.
#1) Tight hairstyling like braids , ponytails or buns, use of hairclips and other styling practices should be avoided. A
#2) Avoid practices like blow drying , straightening or use of hot combs.
#3) Use a good conditioning agent over the hair body after every hair wash along with oiling
#4) Regular trimming of the hair ends should be done every two to three months.

Sun protection is very crucial and includes three vital aspects
a) A sunscreen with good SPF (of atleast 30) , preferably sweat and water resistant
b) Mechanical sun protection( use scarf or hat)
c) Oral sunscreen - Consult your dermatologist to recommend an antioxidant (containing polypodium leucotomos and free radical scavengers) . Please read more about sun protection on

Are you suffering from itchy red lesions everytime you shave? It could be a condition known as "Pseudofolliculitis barbae".
a) Avoid stretching the skin during the shaving process
b) Keep the shaving cream for 15 to 20 minutes before you start doing it to soften the beard.
c) Avoid shaving too close or in direction opposite to hair growth.
