This hotel is more expensive than other hotels in the Downtown area, but it's not better in any way. I don't think it's worth the extra money. Our room was very noisy and I asked if they could move us to a more quiet room. They told me they didn't have anything available. Then I asked to speak with the manager and suddenly they realized they had quiet room available. Everything was fine after we got moved and we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful property for the area. Management is still learning so every visit is probably going to be a little different while they figure out how to get people in the door. Staff are always eager to please. Players club is always running some crazy promotion so if you see a long line it might be worth checking out. If you're a serious gambler make sure you talk with a host - they're quick to give you a room for the night and tour of the property & amenities.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I booked and confirmed my reservation on Expedia. When I went to check in, the first guy, stared at the screen, then took my ID and went through a closed door for a few minutes. He emerged saying someone else would need to help with this. After about 45 minutes standing at the check-in desk while they pondered, they handed me a letter to go stay at a hotel a couple blocks away saying they didn't have a room. When I asked why, they were vague and only said due to extensions although it looked like they were checking in people after me. My guess is they sold my room to someone else for more money. When I went to this other hotel, turns out the The Grand has only asked them about rates and didn't say they were sending someone over. At first, they only had two smoking rooms, but when I protested, said there was one non-smoking but right above the Fremont Experience which went until after 1:00 AM. This hotel was not even close to as nice as the Grand; the room had peeling wallpaper and was dirty. An awful experience all around.

I picked this place because it was on the ChoiceHotels list and I'm a member. The only reason I didn't five star this place is the noise. Service, cleanliness, amenities and value were great. Modern looking, entertaining, accessible and enjoyable. We stayed in a deluxe room and found it more than adequate. Wifi easy to access. Really nice TV with MSNBC (yea) and a nice hairdryer in the bathroom. I should've known there was a noise issue when I saw the earplugs on the dresser. The bar is for some hard partying till 2AM. So use the earplugs! I will go again, despite the noise. We had a tasty dinner at Pizza Rock across the street. In the morning we had free coffee at the Commissary across the street. Within walking distance of the FreeMont experience which is exciting for about 15 minutes. Also within walking distance of the Neon Museum but you do have to walk through the skid row of Las Vegas, sadly. Would recommend a cab ride at night. We also walked to the wonderful Container Park.

I've stayed here twice since they have been open and loved it! Great rooms and great room rates! Really awesome location near old downtown las Vegas. has roof top parties with food and full bar and music. fyi you will need room card to enter into any of the hotel events. valet parking is highly suggested.

Enjoyed the recently renovated Downtown Grand. Service staff was exceptional. Their location is convenient to all local downtown events so you can use their Valet even if you don't stay there.

Great besides the following: housekeeping does not clean your room- we did not have a do not disturb sign on the door thru our entire stay and actually had to request the "strange hair" found under a freshly packaged bar of soap be removed from our shower upon arrival to the room our first night. Everyday we left the room and came back to find all the garbage and takeout boxes still in the same place, our drinks glasses still in the same spot and clearly no vacuuming done- though the shower was wiped down and bed made and fresh water bottles provided ......hmmmmm. You can also hear every door slam and toilet flush on your floor. The ice machine was also "missing" from the floor so I had to go down a floor just to fill our ice bucket. I will say the front desk staff was more than accommodating regarding our "hair issue" and most everyone was as nice as they could be. Can't say enough about the convenient location. Would have been nice to have a coffee pot/fridge/microwave but you get what you get....

I stayed at the Downtown Grand mid Novemver 2013. I was greeted by a familar face from The Gold Spike Hotel. "hey there youre a few week late this year?" I knew I was in for a treat as I was always made to feel special at The Gold Spike. The Downtown Grand is a Top Shelf Hotel hidden away. The Service, Valet, Housekeeping, Security, Bartenders, Servers everyone connected to this Hotel Hospitality and Customer Service is Excellent. The room was heaven and those pillows OMG!! I have nothing but good things to say this old friend The Lady Luck now The Downtown Grand..I plan to make The Grand my SPOT when I visit Vegas which is often. Keep up the great and wonderful things your doing.
