Hello! I'll be doing a YouTube livestream at 10 AM MT. :) I'll be talking about the Marshmallow test at the beginning...pretty fun piece of research even though there are differing views on the results. Have a great Friday!

I'll be going live at 10 AM MT on YouTube to answer questions. Watch live or catch the replay. I'll answer these questions and more:

I just started hiring on Upwork and got a couple of writers, it's my first time and I'm in the process of assessing what I like and don't like moving forward. These issues came to mind during the process...
1. What's a reasonable length of time to wait before letting writers know they're hired? I want to make sure I get what I want and not jump in too quickly.
2. What's a reasonable length of time to expect a turnaround for 1 article, or 5 or 10 articles from a writer (1,500 words each)?
3. I hired the writers on a "trial" basis, with the potential of future work (like your template suggests). If I decide not to use a trial writer again, should I let them know or not?

thx for all the great info and content you share! I have a question that I have tried to get an answer to from your videos and website. If you go for keywords with the KGR that gets 50-250 monthly searches, how can that get you a lot of traffic to your site?
I get it that you get ranked which I have tried and think is great! But how do you get more traffic above the one your keyword has been searched for in the past?
Will Google rank you higher for another close by keywords as well because you rank high on the KGR keyword? Would be great if you can explain a bit more about this.

I'll be going live in about 30 mins on YouTube to answer questions. :) I'll answer these questions and more:

In researching some competitors I noticed some have affiliate links on every post. Some posts are more affiliate oriented and some are more informational but all have at least one affiliate link. Would this be reasonable to do and not look too spammy to Google? Currently I'm linking to affiliate articles from my informational posts and have no affiliate links on them.

A question to everyone in the chat and Doug: what’s your opinion on using a pen name vs. your real name on your affiliate site?

I'll be going live in a bit, so join me then or catch the replay later.

I'll be answering these questions (that were sent in), plus a bunch more from the live audience!
TheSpruce.com has recently added TheSprucePets.com, TheSpruceEats.com, and TheSpruceCrafts.com. Why would they do that vs. building up TheSpruce.com?

I have a question about what you consider the difference between affiliate content vs. informational content.

I have recently been working over in my head what the difference would be in the eyes of Google. Is it buyer intent keywords? Is it the amount of affiliate links? How would Google determine if you have too much affiliate content vs. informational content. Your thoughts?

Which one do you prefer, 5 Best Action Cameras or 10 Best Action Cameras?
With the ""top 5"" type articles, you can make the buyers more focused toward a few products, but with the ""top 10"" type articles, the headline is more attractive in search result. What is your take on this?

How long does it take for the backlinks to show up in Semrush or such tool? I mean, I posted several anwsers on Quora 2 weeks ago, with couple of links to my website in each article, but Semrush doesn't detect any backlinks from Quora. Those articles are still alive, have 500+ views each.

I started to monetize my site a little over a year about with Amazon Affiliates but really started putting in the work about 6 months ago. Anyway...to my question: I recently joined CJ Affiliates because of the higher commissions for my niche site. I'm starting to do well with Amazon but I wanted to know is it ok and safe to add CJ links in the same pages/posts as my Amazon links?

Not really much on the subject online, though the few I've seen say it's ok to promote both on the same page. However, I wanted to get a solid answer from an authority such as yourself.

I'll answer the question in a Livestream... And this one:
"If someone follows my link to Amazon and buys the product , why would they need my site anymore for future purchasing ? Why wouldn’t they bypass the middleman and go directly to Amazon ?"

**This question was submitted by Steven.

You can submit your Qs, too.
