That's great, Doug! I've never known how to cut a mango so I avoid buying them fresh. Not anymore! :)

Outtakes. Always a crowd pleaser.

This time?

A two-letter word tripped me up.

Go figure.
A wee outtake. This may be the most difficult word in the English language. Not really. Tweet

Sometimes, I just lose it.

For some reason, the word “ham” got me in a session today.

Hey kids. Did a podcast with a great guy, Tim Flattery, one of the big guys at MEC in Sydney. He wrote a nifty post entitled "Dear Agencies: Long Ads Are Not Branded Entertainment. Please Stop Calling Them That," and we had a little convo about it.
Before I go off on my rant, I better establish some credentials. I’ve been in the branded entertainment / content business a long, long time. My first meeting on the subject involved Kevin Huvane (head of talent agency CAA) and his client Demi Moore in Los Angeles regarding how we could parlay Demi’s output deal…

Where I talk about overexposure in VO.
Boy, it sure is nice to book a bunch of gigs, isn’t it? They’re rolling in like something rolling in quickly (sorry, I’ve been on a trip back east with my family and can’t c...

Kind of bucks the theory that being sedentary cuts your life span. Of course, I'm just assuming he was sitting around watching TV and not getting up to change the channel all day.

A new post. Where I don't apologize for being away for awhile.
Wow. That was quite a stretch of going dark. But there was a good reason — and she’s almost 4 months old. One of my colleagues noticed and asked me if I was concerned about being away from blogging fo...

Finally got off my tuches and wrote a new blog post. Now, with John Corbett.
It seems like there is a run on audition specs that call for John Corbett of late. “Should sound like John Corbett, but not exactly like him.” “We like John Corbett.” “We’re thinking that we want John...

I always enjoy my conversations with +Chris Brogan.

Yesterday, I was able to catch up with him before the holidays to discuss, among other things, bold optimism — a theme that we’re carrying through to the end of this year and in to 2012.

But, as is my want, I ended up taking some delightful detours and we ended up covering:

- Boston is wicked smart
- Portland coffee is not to be trifled with
- #aw8 observations and opportunities
- Opportunities to bridge the communications industry/technology industry divide
- Where optimism is coming from
- The responsibility of youth and experience coming together for the greater good of success and momentum
- His mentors and influences (including Brian Clark, Seth Godin, Darren Rowse, Tim Sanders and more)
- What is most exciting finishing up 2011 and going in to 2012 (the mainstream and technology)
- A shameless plug for Grown Up Marketing
- Bold optimism and how it has played a role in his success
- Bold predictions for 2012 (loose mobile social networks is highly interesting, Google+ will dent Twitter)
- Bold advice for young people in the biz (experiment, execute, admit mistakes, serve others, BE YOURSELF)
- The new book (Google+ for Business: How Google’s Social Network Changes Everything), speaking engagements

Mentioned in the convo: +Brian Clark, +Seth Godin, +Darren Rowse and more.

Enjoy the convo.

Introduction
Creative Bohemian.

It says nothing and everything at the same time and is a bohemian existence that I value.

I never get tired of hearing how people, companies, brands and organizations tell their stories well.

Healthy curiosity and learning from others is my foundation.

Teaching others -- and seeing them move closer to their goals -- is my mission.

Creating, producing and sharing interesting content is my love affair.

Stories inspire me.

Telling them drives me to do the very best work possible.
