+Peter Scargill posted about making a UPS and I commented that there were others available. This is pretty sad coming from me. Making something from scratch whether it is a cake or a weather station is a rewarding experience. Like with Peter's UPS he is making, one can make it do exactly what you want and have the features you want. I would hope my comments never dissuade anyone from making. I am glad to see the word make and maker take on the enhanced meaning it has today.

There was a comment about asking dumb questions. As my $0.02 you should ask questions, no matter how "dumb" they are. At the least you will meet some people who may wish to help.

His comment about just try it reminds me of an old army phrase, "Smoke 'em if you got 'em." As one who has smoked an RPi it's no fun to see $35.00 go up in a tiny puff of smoke.

Ask questions. Your question may just give someone else an idea of how to do something. To me the Raspberry Pi is all about learning even for an old fossil like me.

I just installed my Joey Board and I am impressed. I have 6 Raspberry Pis 3 Bs an A+ a B+ and a B2 so I have installed a lot of stuff (also interpreted as junk)

The Joey board is by far the simplest hardware and software to install and use that I have run across.

It is on my B2 in my bedroom and will be my clock and temperature indicator. As a plus David Meiklejohn (aka Gooligum Electronics) included a program that on boot tells the IP address of the Pi.

I hope he sells a bazillion of these boards and gets rich.

Like I said, I am impressed.
(you gotta LOVE those Aussies)
